OK, it’s not technically five this week, but don’t get your underdrawers in a twist. This week has been more than a little crazy. I’m trying hard to decide on how I want this new blog space to eventually look, so that Leanne can design my new layout. Trying to figure out how things work in Word Press has been extremely frustrating for me. Have y’all heard me screaming over here? Though Leanne has been a helpful and calming influence, I am not a very patient person. And, I degenerate to whining very quickly.
Work has also gotten in the way of blogging! It’s hard to remember that there is a real world out there when I get caught up in my blogging frenzy. This whole endeavor was started in order to cure my addiction to mahjohngg. It worked, because I hardly ever play anymore. But, how am I going to cure the addiction to blogging?
I’m frantically trying to finish everything so I can pack to go to Galveston tomorrow. It’s really a business trip (I’m telling stories at The Grand Kid’s Fest on Saturday), but my husband is going with me, so we are planning on some fun, too. I just wish it wasn’t on Easter weekend, but when you work for yourself you do what you gotta do. And, my portable computer is not set up to be able to use it for blogging while I travel!
All that whining leads up to the sad admission that I didn’t get to read as much Thursday Thirteen as I wanted to read. So, I have not decided on five blogs for my link love. I’m publishing three, and will decide on two more when I come home Sunday night (actually, there are about six other possible maybes, so I may just have to list everyone). Here are three listings that I have been enjoying. I hope you do, too.
His signature is JAM, but searching through his blog, I think his name is really John. He’s an engineer in Miami. He has a new photography blog, but I didn’t have time to visit it. JAM writes about life in general, and I particularly enjoy it because it falls under the heading “eclectic.” I read his post reminiscing about a childhood treehouse and it touched a chord with me.
More next Monday. In the meantime, Happy Easter everyone.

I’m very honored. Thanks for the love. I have added you to my link love on my sidebar. You will now be a daily read. Have a great day.
You already ARE a daily read, and you will be in that listing as soon as I can get back from my trip and figure out some more of this Wordpress stuff!
Thank you. I’m flattered. I like to read lots of blogs and comment, but don’t have much of a blog roll or anything. I tried that and couldn’t keep up with it. It ended up being more important to me to just post every day than to try to worry about my blog’s looks or keeping up with links. But thank you. (I actually live in Palm Bay, Florida, about half way between Jacksonville and Miami. About 30 miles south of Kennedy Space Center.)
Don’t give so much info away, John! The lurking monsters on the web will come and get you. I’m enjoying your blog. You don’t have to blogroll, but when you find blogs you like, mention ‘em. It’s worth doing. I’ve found a lot of good blogs because jennymcb or scribbit mentioned them
Shelly,
First, have a great trip.
Second, if your stressed now, don’t go buy a new laptop with vista. To many new things to figure out. I’ve been trying for over a month to get things back to normal.
Why did you switch to wordpress?
Hey Janet, I do NOT intend to buy a new laptop. I think I saw you post about that, didn’t I? Why did I switch to wordpress? Right now, I’m asking myself that same question. I wanted my own url for one thing. I also figured that I might be able to have more control over it. I overestimated my ability with css (blogger can fool you about that). But, I can see that if I will look at it logically I can eventually understand it. It does have a lot of possibilities. Ask me that question in a month and I might be able to tell you (lol).
Wow, how flattering. Thank you. Really, thank you. I love what I’ve seen of your blog so far, I’ll definitely have to come read more.
Have a great day, and hope you find some time off this weekend.
