My “Dear Husband” Doesn’t Get It

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on April 29, 2007

My sweet husband is not a blogger, and is sometimes mystified by the abbreviations used. This morning I vacated my seat at the computer for a few moments, and he took the opportunity to sit before the monitor. He doesn’t get that chance very often anymore.

I had left a blog post on the screen in which a blogger referred to her “DH.” When I came back in the room, my spousal unit was scratching his head in wonder.

“DH,” he said. “She doesn’t mean ‘Designated Hitter,’ does she?”

I sincerely hope not.

Hey, sounds like he thinks, at least. Made me smile.

He thinks, that’s for sure. Runs circles around me. I can’t keep up, so I just put out my leg and trip him.~skt

LMAO! The first time I saw the abbreviation DH, on an internet board years ago, I thought it meant something quite different and, well, not very nice. Let’s just say I thought it rhymed with Stick Bed.

That’s what I thought the first time I saw it. Don’t tell my husband, because I giggled at him for not knowing what it was… and sometimes it DOES mean that!~skt

That’s too cute, I used to be puzzled by the abbreviations too – but it didn’t take long by reading others blogs what they mean…my DH refers to me as LW – lovely wife…lol! Then there was DD and DS and on and on.

I think we make it confusing in our attempts to hide their identities. If I abbreviated everything I call MY people, no one would ever understand a thing I say.~skt

No she means her dear hairdresser.

There are SOOO many things she could mean, if you work at interpretation  ~skt
