Perhaps the ghost was annoyed because it didn't like the cow decor?

I stayed at Ye Kendall Inn last night for a staff retreat. I'm pretty sure the room I stayed in is just rampant with electrical problems, but it was interesting/odd nevertheless. I stayed in Hill Country 2. The ceiling fan turns on and off by itself. I saw it do this at least 3 times. The lights flicker randomly. The television flickers (shows static, etc.) and also goes from being in color to suddenly being in black and white. I was using the hairdryer this morning and after a couple of minutes, it just stopped working. No popping noise or anything, just stopped working in a nondescript way. I tried all of the other plugs in the bathroom, tried to reset buttons...NADA. So I thought I would call the front desk, but the phone was dead. HA! Really. Not even a dial tone. So I tested the hairdryer on an outlet in the room where the coffee machine is, and it worked. Like I said...probably just wiring/electrical problems. Or a "ghost" that was very annoyed that I didn't like the cow decor in the room.

It's the end of May, 2009, and my husband and I just got back from a trip to Boerne. We stayed at Ye Kendall Inn in the Marcela Booth room unbeknownst to us that apparently the Inn is haunted. I like historical places so I booked us a room there. We were attending a wedding in Fredericksburg on Saturday and thought we we stay in Boerne Saturday and Sunday night.

We checked in Saturday night and I was a bit dismayed by the fact that the mattress in the room was really bad. Actually, it was the worse mattress I've ever slept on. I complained the next morning after a really rough and sleepless night. The husband did OK, but not me. The strange occurances during the night took place starting at 2:54 a.m. I happenned to check the clock. Of course, 3:00 a.m. is the high time for paranormal occurences. At that time, however, I wasn't thinking about ghosts. I was just thinking about how I could not sleep. The next thing that happenned was that I heard something being moved on or near the fireplace. It was dead silent in the room. The fan nor a/c was not on. So I just layed there and thought "Oh well, some of junk fell off of something else". However, the next thing that happenned was that my covers (blanket and sheet) started "waving" up and down around my feet. My husband was totally still and asleep so it wasn't him causing it. The next thing that happenned was that I felt a depression on the end of the bed, like someone had sat down. After that passed, I finally started to drift to sleep after feeling a bit anxious. Then all of a sudden, I heard this sound like someone clearing their throat to either make you move or get your attention. It was not my husband. It was in my right ear and sounded very close. Scared the you know what out of me! It seems it finally got quiet and I did apparently drift off, but was up at 6:30 calling down to the desk. I wanted to change rooms, not because of the strange occurance, but because of the bad mattress.

They told me they were booked and could only put an egg crate cushion on the bed. I said OK, but I really didn't want to stay there. I tried to put it out my mind, went to breakfast and went shopping. There we met my daughter and her husband along with his parents. I told them what had occurred and how strange it was, but just went on.

When we got back around 3:30 p.m. to the inn, the desk clerk told me that they had another room in the garden area if we wanted and asked me to go look at it with her. Sounded great, so off I went. While we were walking and talking, I asked her if the inn (I didn't know) was haunted. She said "yes" and asked if something had happenned. I told her my story. She laughed and said that in the Marcela Booth room, there is a female entity as discovered by a paranormal documentary and film crew in 1999. Sometimes things get moved and the bed is always messed up or has depressions on it. Wow! I still have goose bumps after finding that out.

I felt I had had an encounted and was validated. I just looked up some more info on the inn and the Marcella Booth room is mentioned with exactly the same things occurring that happenned to me.

I will never forget my time in Boerne and actually look forward to going back some day. Perhaps the ghost will talk to me the next time!

The encounter was totally unexpected, but one I won't forget.

Oh yes, my brothers and I often wondered. When my youngest brother was about 2 we told him there was one named Robert in the attic who would rock in the rocking chair. Needless to say, our parent weren't pleased...lol!

Oh, YOU were like my big brother...take the little ones in a dark closet, put a flashlight under your face...scare them into wetting their pants  Yes, I know your kind. Come join Me! That's my favorite occupation!~skt
