A Sweet Mother’s Day Gift

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on May 13, 2007

Well, knock me over with a feather. I’ve had one of the sweetest Mother’s Day gifts a blogger can get. I arose this morning, and as dawn was breaking I checked my e-mail. My post about my Momma called Life is a Gamble was awarded a Rising Blogger award.

The Rising Blogger is a relatively new blog, posted by Judd Corizan. Each day, Judd awards a “post of the day.” He claims, “We will try to steer you to some thought provoking posts. They might be insightful. They might be funny. They will never be dull. We absolutely encourage you to nominate a blog for our award. (And YES, you can nominate yourself!)” Already this morning in perusing his site I have found some “tasty” blogs that are new to me. I plan to visit his site often, because he is doing all the work for me! And, I plan to nominate a LOT of the posts I see, because I’m seeing many excellent posts these days.

Thank you, Judd, for awarding me this. I am pleased and flabbergasted. I almost didn’t post that story, because the emotion felt too “raw.” The only thing that I would ask, pretty please, is that you alter one line in your review. You said that my Momma was “one very fiesty lady from Oklahoma.” Momma was from Texas, and she is rolling over in her grave right now.

Sigh. Now, if the kids would just phone home.

I hope y’all have a happy Mother’s Day.

Wonderful! Happy Mother’s Day to you!

I’ve got some lovely gifts and my DH wrote me a lovely write up on his blog instead of a card – of course I think he has major stocks in Kleenex the way he makes me cry…lol!

Congrats! You should be bestowed many more awards in the coming weeks or months. You’re talented and have lots to share in a humorous style all your own.

Happy belated Mother’s Day. I hope it was as relaxing and fun as mine.
