Link Love For “Emerging Influential Blogs”

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on May 20, 2007

linklove1 Link Love For Emerging Influential Blogs
I’ve talked to y’all many times about the importance of “link love.” When we link to the blogs that interest us, it helps them grow readership. The benefits come back to us as well, usually ten-fold.

Right now there is a “contest” going on that fits right into that link love theme. Janette Toral’s Reflective Thinking Blog is calling for bloggers to name their choices of The Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs in 2007. She wants us to identify “new and emerging blogs that are making an impact to its readers in 2007. These are blogs that started anytime from August 1, 2006 to the present. They are gradually gaining a considerable amount of readership and influence.”

Although you can only submit one entry, you can update the list of ten until July 28th. You might consider making a partial list while you are thinking about it. Each week, a list of entries AND the bloggers nominated will be linked on her site. That’s “Link Love,” friends. Not only can you get and give “Google juice” you can find some interesting new blogs that you might not otherwise have found. Here is your chance to speak out! Take it.

I began pondering this, and suspected that most of the sites would be “tech sites” or sites about making money on-line. The first week’s list shows me I was right. Three of the blogs I expected to be on it were. I have them on my feedreader, and would have nominated them. Gary Conn.Com, SmartWealthyRich, and Blog About Your Blog are wonderful reads with informative tips nestled in well written essays.

I’m nominating a more eclectic list. Y’all might have expected that. These are blogs I’ve found that I think have a lot to offer their readership. Ordinarily, I would review each one, but I would rather you just read through them on your own and discover the gems they have written. These are bloggers that obviously put a lot of work and thought into the posts they write. Get another cup of coffee, flex those fingers, and start clicking. I hope you enjoy.

In no particular order:

Hamelife { no longer blogging}

Riley Central

Inspiration Bit

The Savvy Boomer

Duward Discussion

Life is RANTastic

SusieJ

The Rising Blogger

Tumbled Words

Top Blog Mag [no longer a blog}

As for me, I’m going to go find some inspiration today. I have to go out into The Real World and tell stories in the morning.

Shelly, I’m really touched by this. Thank you so much for listing me among such illustrious company. Some of these I know already, and some I will visit immediately!

I mean, come on, if hamelife’s on the list, the others must be completely brilliant. :grin:

:lol: And, they are ALL as modest as you are, too! Crack me up.~skt

I am so honored. In fact, I think the opportunity to have a blog is an honor, and nothing I take lightly. All of us know how much effort goes into each and every post — and it’s good to recognize this effort. I’m eager to visit the others on this list.

I know you don’t take it lightly, SusieJ…that’s why I think you are an “emerging blogger.” You’ve got great content, and the work you put into it shows. ♥ ~skt

What a great list of blogs! I noticed that Duward Discussion and Life is RANTastic started before August 2006. Thank you for joining this writing/link love project!

I noticed that after I posted. Sorry. I still recommend them, but I’ll amend the list tomorrow afternoon.~skt

WoW, I’m speechless.
I don’t want to sound like Sally Field, receiving the Oscar: “You like me, you really like me”, but I sure feel like her :-)
Thank you!

Don’t act like Sally Field. You can feel like her, but don’t talk like her :lol: You would never live it down. I like you. I really like you.~skt

WOW!! Thank you. That is one of the best compliments ever. You are a sweetheart. Of course it is the comments from readers such as you that make it work. come by often.

Jamie

I DO come by often and I WILL! The nomination was justly deserved, but I’m told your blog is too “old.” I hate getting old, don’t y’all?~skt

Shelly, I read your post early this morning and it took all day to absorb it, I think I have. Thank you, I am honored beyond belief. As much as I just love to run at the mouth, what I want most is to make a difference to someone, lots of someones. I’m learning from the rest of y’all. Thank you.

I have more reading to do, I have only read some of the blogs you nominated, but my glasses will be in in another week or so, maybe I will be able to read faster. (PS, I think I finally got the word verification off all my blogs, no follow comes off first a.m.)

Marcia, it doesn’t matter how fast we read….there is always more than we can get the chance to read. I wish I could clone myself so that one could read and the other write! Both of me would be fighting to get to write, though :lol: ~skt
