Hi Shelly – I’ll tell you where Mr. Bloomberg flies off to in his private jet.
Bermuda.
How do I know this? Because I lived there up until a short time ago and MB has a beautiful house in and exclusive gated community called Tucker’s Town and plays weekend rounds at the uber-pricey, private Mid-Ocean golf course.
But really – is it any different to those non-billionaires who go off to their weekend houses in Connecticut, or Kennebunkport, etc…?

Naw, Wylie, it isn’t any different. I don’t mind him being able to enjoy the benefits of being rich. It just seems odd to me that he didn’t opt to take public transportation, since that’s what he espouses.~skt

I live in NYC, and know the mayor takes the subway everyday and everywhere, is really trying to encourage everyone in the city to do that. Unlike other cities, NYC does have great mass transit. Anyways, even though it might a bit ironic that he uses a private plane, at least he is trying something.

I’ll give him that much credit Jon. I don’t live there, and you do—so I take your word on it. I was getting excited hearing of his plans until I heard about the jet. That fuel used in the private jet negates a whole lot of the carbon emissions he saves by taking the subway.~skt

I don’t know much about him either except that he came after Guiliani…how do you buy a billionaire anyway? I’d like one of those around the house

They just had on our news that they want to institute that “pay a ton of money” if you insist on driving during rush hour thing here. Personally, I’d rather not drive in rush hour traffic at all, but society demands that I you know work and pick up my children. Until I can wiggle my nose and they magically appear somewhere, I have no choice.

I guess if you live in Chicago, you could possibly take public transportation, but I don’t have 12 hours a day to ride suburban buses everywhere I would need to go, if they even go where I need to go. They were just talking about making a bus ride like $5 or something here, too.

Insanity.

Yes, it is insanity, and I’m certainly not the one to come up with answers. Mass transit in Texas is a joke because we are so spread out. But, the government is trying to do something about it. If I had to try to park in a big city, I’d try mass transit for sure.~skt

Well Shelly, Al Gore does the same thing. Look at the energy he uses with that mansion of his. They are celebs and that is all there is to it. When they talk everyone is supposed to listen and heed their advice. Talking heads I call them. Girlfriend…it’s all about their name in print and the bling-bling. Period. Excellent post on IRONY!

Thanks, Sandee. Actually, I think they all do the same thing too. I agree about Al Gore. I don’t even know if Bloomberg is Republican or Democrat, and it doesn’t matter to me. It just sounds like he’s talking out of one side of his mouth and then the other.~skt
