Contest? Let’s Do It Again!

I’m nothing if not a glutton for punishment. I just don’t seem to have enough to do! If you believe that, I have a rain forest in Midland, Texas that I’d love to sell to you.

If you have been here before, you know how much I enjoy [tag]humor[/tag]. Although I just wrapped up a writing contest (I asked for funny posts), that only whetted my appetite for more humor. The posts were fantastic, every single one! The winner was Matty at Running on Empty. But, that sweetheart wouldn’t take her $25 Amazon gift certificate. She donated it back to the Share A Square project for yarn to help make afghans for children with cancer! I love people like that, don’t y’all?

Well, I enjoyed the entries so much that (even though I intended to wait until August to do it again) I just have to read more. So, once again, I am hosting

It’s a [tag]writing contest[/tag], in case you aren’t familiar with it. If you are wondering about the title, when my Daddy got tickled about something, he said, “That just blows my dress up.” I’m not sure if that originated because of the famous incident with Marilyn Monroe’s dress blowing up above her waist in the movie Seven Year Itch, or not. But, that’s a family saying, and I like it. So, there you go. You can view all of the entries and winners from the other contests here.

I’m looking for a blog that “Blows My Dress Up.” I want you to give us a good laugh. As before, it won’t be my dress blowing up. I’ve asked the previous winner, Matty, to judge the contest. I figured that I liked her sense of humor.

Just send me one funny post you have written. There will be one winner.

As each entry is submitted, I will post links to the essays here in the order that I receive them, so the rest of the blogosphere can read them. The winner of the contest gets a $25 gift certificate to Amazon.com. and a button, similar to the picture on this page, to post if they choose. Every contestant accepted will get a link on the page.

Here is what I seek: I’m looking for original humorous essays. Please do not send a post that is just a cartoon, or a joke. My judge will not see any pictures that you have posted with the essay. I want your writing. It can be on any topic you choose, but you have to keep it clean. I reserve the right to reject any entry if there is objectionable content or if it does not meet the above guidelines (that means, please do not use the “f” word in the post!).

How do you enter?

1)Comment on this page with the permalink to one of your posts that you think are funny. It can be a new post that you have written for the contest or one from your archives. This will ensure that e-mails don’t get lost in cyberspace.

2) Put this button in a post mentioning the contest. Be sure it is linked back to this page. Your entry will not be posted until that is done.

Once that is posted on your site, tell me and I will post your entry on this page.
