Rockin’ Girl Bloggers

rgb.jpg

WhooWhoo! I got an award! Sandee, over at Comedy Plus named me for this. Here’s what she said about me:

Sherry over at This Eclectic Life is another of my favorite stops each day. Sherry is a paid storyteller and if you read one post you will know that is true. She left me a message the other day that puts her in my hall of fame. I had jury duty and here is her response to my going through voir dire: So, at voir dire, a lawyer made fun of my profession. He giggled to the rest of the panel and said, “Professional storyteller? How does anyone make a living as a storyteller?” I smiled and said, “Sir, I make a living the same way a good lawyer does. I work hard, I can tell a lie with a straight face, and I charge an exorbitant fee.” I didn’t get chosen for the jury… Enough said!

I know she was talking about me…and I’m not going to be the one to tell her that I’m “Shelly.” I don’t care what you call me…just call me! Sandee is one of my favorites, too. I try to visit every day (that I’m visiting) just to get a laugh.

I’m supposed to name 5 bloggers that I think are Rockin’ Girl Bloggers. I think that most of us are past being “girls,” and this list is by no means complete. There’s no way I can just name FIVE. I’m going to tell you the SIX women who have supported me most. They were my first blogging friends, and they have remained my blogging buddies. They e-mail me to give me support; they have been known to call me on any idiocy I have written; and they are there when I have crazy ideas and need some help. My “Blogging Sisters,” they are, and I’ll share them with you in no particular order:

Teamouse at TeaTime Ramblings, who is possibly one of the nicest people on the planet. When I first met her, I thought that she might be so “nice” that she wouldn’t care to be friends. THEN, she let her hair down with a rant or two, and I realized that, though she is indeed nice, that girl has a wild side, too! She’s got a great sense of humor and a huge heart.

Jennymcb at J’s Thoughts & Musings, who is one of those people I hope I get to meet some day. She was the first blogger to e-mail me and we’ve even talked on the phone…for hours! It seemed like we had known each other all our lives. She’s got a great sense of humor (her Limerick contest was a blast) and is a supportive friend.

SusieJ is another supportive friend. We e-mail back and forth, sometimes several times a day, and she listens while I whine. Her blog is a fountain of information always bubbling up with something new. She gets my vote for Hottest Mommy Blogger, but she is much more than that! I think that girl knows a lot about everything.

Jessica the Rock Chick (well of course she would rock) at Life is Rantastic. This woman has the most wickedly wonderful sense of humor I’ve encountered, and has a mind as sharp as steel. I don’t go visit her without falling on the floor laughing as she turns the world on its ear.

Marcia at Tumbled Words is an inspirational delight. She writes poetry, too, but her prose is sublime. She plays every emotion I have when I visit her. In one single post, she can take me from laughter to tears and back again. Marcia is one of the most masterful writers posting out there, and I’m always glad that I visited.

Janet at Life in Westcliffe is a down-to-earth gal who could qualify as a “sister-separated-at-birth.” Except that if that were true, our poor Mama would have had the gestation time of an elephant, because Janet is much younger than I am. She shares photos of her world in Colorado, and she heightens our awareness of the world around us with thoughtful posts about the environment.

Now, don’t get your nose out of joint if you aren’t on the list! There are many more bloggers I love to read. You are on my Link Love and on my blogroll, and you know who you are. And, I’m finding more of you every day that I surf the internet. Thanks to all of you for sharing your writing with the rest of us.

Okay Shelly….I get it and I’m sorry I called you Sherry. I really have a mental block with your name for some reason. Could just be my old age. I stand corrected and I am sorry. I don’t like my name altered either. Nice post and I’ll check out your picks. Teamouse is the only one I have visited. Have a great weekend. )

I hope you know I was only teasing you…as many blogs as you visit in a day, I’m surprised you remember your own name lol I sure appreciate the nomination. And, you are going to love the other gals.~skt

Thanks for the links. I’ve been looking for new blogs lately. I know there are thousands out there, but sometimes I get stuck!

An easy way to find them is to go to the Thursday Thirteen hub and just surf wink There are some great ones out there~skt

Shelly - I am honored to be in the list — and grateful that you have not yet read another thousand blogs out there that would have bumped me off the list. (grin) Although there are better things to aspire for, evoking emotion has been my goal since I started writing; you make my day saying I pull it off sometimes. Now I am under pressure to live up to your words, but that option sure beats not writing.

But on to the afghans, knitting I can do! Gauge is another thing, but hey, I’ll pull it off - right now!

I would put you on the list for ALL of your blogs, but for heavens sake woman, how many blogs can one person have? lol You definitely move my emotions. You won’t have to try to live up to my words. It just falls from your fingers….now go make some squares fall from your fingers~skt

Congratulations!

And now you’ve given even more blogs to browse. Bedtime may get pushed back even later.

Thanks, you don’t need to sleep, anyway. How can you sleep for worrying about bird flu? twisted ~skt

I’m honored to be listed with these other great bloggers. I’ve read a few and I know why they are on this list. I was totally surprised to have made this list and so happy!

You are a great friend and even though I’ve only known you a short time through this great blogosphere - I feel like your a true friend.

To think I almost gave up blogging only a few months ago, and all of the great people I wouldn’t have met.

There may be more rant in me soon - if my DD doesn’t get her emotions in check…ack!

Hang on…it’s a *teenager*! I feel your pain lol You are my true friend, Sweet Tea, even though we wouldn’t recognize each other on the street. How can you be surprised that I would think you rock??~skt
