for turning 100 weeks old this week!
For those of you who are not bloggers and wonder what the heck I’m talking about, on Thursdays several hundred bloggers write a list of 13 things in a post. It can be anything: a list of books, thirteen foods they like, movies, fears, etc., etc. Mine are usually goofy things, because I enjoy being silly.
Then, we all go around and visit and read the lists. It’s a way of getting to know each other, but it serves other purposes as well. By commenting on each other’s blogs, we get new visitors to our own site. On some sites (like this one), if we leave a comment we get a “link.” If you aren’t a blogger, that means nothing to you. But, a “link” for a blogger increases our blog’s rank. So, we want as many as we can get.
At the bottom of each post, it says, “Leave a Comment.” All you have to do is click on that, and it will give you a form to say what you want to tell me.
This week, the Thursday Thirteen folks asked us to
…write about your thirteen favorite Thursday Thirteen posts. You can write about thirteen of your own T13 posts, or you can write about the T13 posts of others that you’ve enjoyed. Be sure to link to each of the 13 posts you highlight so we can all check them out easily.
1) There have been a ton of Thursday Thirteen posts I have loved, but I didn’t bookmark them.
2) To find them again, I’d have to spend hours searching everybody’s sites.
3) I don’t have hours to spend on that because I write other posts every week, too! But, you can click on here to see the Thursday Thirteeners who have been “featured” before.
4) I’m also pretty busy trying to crochet for Share A Square.
5) AND, I’m going out in my community trying to recruit crochet volunteers.
6) I’m trying to wind up This Eclectic Life’s This Blog Blows My Dress Up Contest.
7) AND, I have a life (believe that or not…it’s your choice) with a few kinks in it right now.
8) Most people have archives on their blog, so if you want to see their [tag]Thursday Thirteen[/tag] posts, you can search them out.
9) I have an archive on my blog, too. But, to make it easy for you, you can click here and see every Thursday Thirteen I have written.
10) If everybody lists 13 posts to go read, how the heck are we supposed to have time to visit them all?
11) If your goal is to leave your link in as many places as possible, this serves no purpose at all.
12) Who wants people just dropping in to leave their links and run on to the next, anyway?
13) I think whoever decided this didn’t think it through…so I’m not gonna do it. Yeah, I’m being a [tag]spoil sport[/tag], but there you go.
However, you can still leave your comment and get a link. AND, if you would like, give me a link to the favorite post YOU have written and I will link you right here:
1) Jenny McB at J’s Thoughts and Musings: 13 Places You’d Never Find Me.
2) Mrs. Teamouse at TeaTime Ramblings: My Love Story
YOU are Next
You can visit other Thursday Thirteen folks, and maybe they play nice!

Very creative list…!!!Mines up!
I havn’t even been around that long (we are only up to TT no. 5), so I do not have the ability to do a list like that either!!
So, what did I do? Holiday destinations as it is a pretty major ‘Holiday’ in the States (we are in Australia, and this is our way of being part of it all…)!
Have a good one…
Bernie
Remember that picture of you as a little kid? I can picture you with your arms crossed and stamping your feet. (Wish I could find that post of yours again)
You’re right about this topic, but I picked ones that were memorable or that I wanted to remember for something that was on it. (patterns, wine terms and banners) So I cheated and did some link love on the side. So my favorite post for Thursday Thirteen is my post on where not to find me….http://jennymcb.blogspot.com/2007/03/7-thursday-thirteen-places-youd-never.html
Well, I have to say that I never thought of it quite that way.
For me, it was I assumed an ‘easy’ week. You are right though it does take up some time to scare up some posts. I had to dig around your site for some time before I found ye ol’ bacon post…lol!
Anyway I did put up a few of mine too and I only really went to blogs that I visit regularly – otherwise it would have been a ton of work – and I’m not in the mood for work, so I totally understand your point.
Happy Thursday
I was a rebel too! So glad I’m not the only one
I am with you on all of those reasons! I thought it was nuts! I do have to sleep at some point! Happy 4th!

Check out my contest!
I didn’t realize that the TT people had asked us to list our favorite TT posts, so I did it my way too. It’s sort of fun to be a rebel sometimes, huh?
Happy TT!
When I read something funny, I laugh, comment, and move on. I don’t usually bookmark it. You’re right…pretty absurd. I boycotted too and posted about American Pastimes and making out in the backseat of cars. Gotta love that!
I posted a list of my favorite 13’s for this week. My very favorite is “Christmas Memories,” I think you’ll enjoy that post!
Happy TT!
LOL … hey, I finished my “list of other’s TT posts that I enjoyed” and it was kind of difficult (I only chose those who commented on my post; made choosing easier!
) … but I did it anyway.
.. and i enjoyed reading this post!
happy TT
I didn’t want to take the time to search out 13 individual posts, but I did list 13 great blogs I was introduced to via TT – sort of a jumbo linkie love kind of thing.
A very honest post and it’s great!
Happy Thursday!
I hear you. Not easy to pick just 13. Brutal really. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m doing exactly what #12 says, throwing my link in the URL box and running. Happy 100!

I’ve so enjoyed reading your blog – Marcia at tumbled words sends me your way:)
My FAVORTE TT13 that I wrote is linked – http://shelbydupree.blogspot.com/2007/03/thursday-thirteen-on-shelby.html
Mine is also up for today.
Take care and happy day!
Hi Shelly,
You make me laugh! That was the exact same reaction I had when I read the suggestion about writing about all of those Thirteens! Holy Moly, that would be an awful lot of work…and I 100% agree, nobody would read them. It’s just too time consuming.
I really think a “13 Things I like about Thursday Thirteen” suggestion might have been a way better way to commemorate the 100 week anniversary.
I haven’t done mine yet. Too busy jumping up and down for me Bon Jovi concert tonight
But, I think my fave 13 right now is Jailhouse Rock. http://lifeisrantastic.blogspot.com/2007/06/jailhouse-rock-thursday-thirteen-19.html
HappyTT-ing!

This is only my second week of participating in Thursday Thirteen, so I really didn’t have 13. I did mine on my favorite actors.
I am only on TT 2 so no list for me, you comments were refreshing.
I am also new to TT (today’s is number 2) but it seems like it will be fun.

Great list and I totally here you! Below is one of my favorite TTs!

All valid reasons. I on the otherhand completely forgot there was a theme this week. So I too did my own thing. I wrote about books and why I got them.
I did my own thing, because this was my 3rd TT. I am happy to say someone mentioned my first TT. I thought it was quite an overwhelming task even to go through a persons list. I have spent way too much time on the computer and not visited the sites the way I would like. This whole thing is making me wonky. Happy TT.
I missed that celebration, too. So true about the time … I can only visit one of each person’s thirteen favorites! I like the idea, but maybe only one person do it a week, then I can enjoy it more.
Happy TT 100!
Just a quick note to let you know I dropped my squares in the mail on Tuesday. I hope they help you reach your goal.
I like your style — I was rebel too! I did mention three of my favorite ‘teeners, but it wasn’t part of my list!
Hi! Thanks for filling me in on the Thirteen on Thursdays. I’m new to blogging and I learned something new today, thanks to you! Teach me more
Ha! I just didn’t follow the tpoic suggestion because I’m a lazy bitch, but your list of reasons sounds so much better! LOL
But, they just boil down to me being a lazy b****
Hi Shelly,
You haven’t posted today – are you OK? I thought you were like the tides of the sea?? lol!
I have dropped out of T13 – I can’t compete with your writing!!
Hope the squares are going ok – see ya!
I got all caught up in real work (!). And, in trying to get my car fixed. Like the tides of the sea? Ha! I’ll probably post twice today…just because all the junk I need to say doesn’t work on one post.
Glad to see that your trip to France didn’t set you back to much. I still watch what’s happening, I just don’t always get the moment to swoop in to comment. But, things are going to slow down, and I’ll be back to my normal routine (I think).
Thanks for thinking about me!
Hugs
Shelly (P.S. I refuse to call you FatBloke!)
Yes, I couldn’t come up with that kind of list either.
I thought it was kinda crazy myself. But, then I was also probably looking for an excuse to whine.~skt
