Awesome post. Great photos too.

My Dad, Big Brother, and both grandfathers were awesome auto mechanics, although only my maternal grandfather did it for a living.

I inherited no mechanical ability. That's why I'm an electical engineer instead of a mechanical. Just the thought of working on a car makes me want to faint like others do at the sight of blood.

Whenever Lovely Wife and I have looked at cars over the years, salesmen envariably elbow me, point with their chin for me to follow them and open the hood and show me the motor.

They had no idea that I had no idea what exactly we were looking at.

 You are a hoot. I can just see you looking under the hood of a car. I love it that my husband knows how to fix an engine, but I hate that he wants to go and look at them at a car show, when all I want to see are the sleek lines.~skt

These are such fun events to go too. Expecially when you get older and can see the many generations of vehicles. Such care and love they get too. Thanks for sharing. :)

Getting to go see the old vehicles is fun, and I am so delighted when some of them are older than I am!~skt

I'm not that into cars in general, but for some reason, I really like the old cars that were around and commonplace during my childhood. I think they just bring back memories or something.

In fact, there is a 1960 somethingorother in a car lot here (never got close enough to find out the make and model) and it's definitely not a muscle car, but everytime I drive by I can't help but look at it. It like calls my name or something.

I took a picture and sent it to my sister to ask if that car meant anything to her and she said "Nope, it just reminds me of an old man's hat!". LOL Oh, well!

I think the video of the car's trip from Germany would be interesting, too!!!! (ok, not the whole video, just the highlights :)

Jessica

Don't know if we will ever see that video from the German car. I love to look at old cars, but my husband only wants to see the engines! He IS an engineer, after all.~skt

You know I love you for that! I appreciate you going to all the trouble. I know you have a lot to do.~skt

It all muscle at our place. Duster (72), dart (68) that's my sons, (66) valiant and my favorite a two door post Savoy (64).

We have an old Volvo sitting in the driveway that has been "under construction" for years but will never get finished (sigh). Sounds like you have some fun ones.~skt
