This post is a list of the people who have helped support the Share A Square program (making afghans for children with cancer at Camp Sanguinity). Here’s the dream for this grass roots charity:
An afghan for each child at the Camp Sanguinity Cancer Camp associated with Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas (July 2008).
That would be 140 afghans made of 48 granny squares (each square 6″x6″ without the black border). Each square on an afghan will be made by a different person. Each square will have a small card attached with the logo, or name, AND location of the person who made it (you can add best wishes as well). When a child gets an afghan, the child will know that at least 48 different people around the world care enough to share their time and their heart.
[EDITOR'S NOTE: The Share A Square project has ended, and the afghans were delivered on July 7th, 2008. Although we will not continue that project, an exciting NEW endeavor, called the Good Medicine Project is in progress for summer camp 2009. We hope you will join us.]
- To find out more, see the website for Share A Square.
- The first afghan will be put together at The Colony Public Library on July 19th. I need squares as quickly as I can get them. Send a 6 inch square to be included on that afghan (the first 39 people will be included on that one). A black crocheted border will be added by volunteers here in Texas. Here is the address:
Shelly Kneupper Tucker
P.O.Box 2241
Denton, TX 76202
- Participate in the blogroll if you are posting a button, writing about the project, or if you are sending squares, comment here so I can add your link. You may send an image that is 125 x 125 pixels and I will post it with a link to your url. Please tell me if I have missed your link!!

Hi,
I’m just wondering if you received my squares? I sent them from AZ about 2 weeks ago…
thank you!
Hey Carmen, are yours the ones from Carmen & Jorge? If so, I posted a picture and linked to the blog you listed on the card. You can see a picture here close to the bottom of the page. I have a written thank you waiting for me to get near a post office here in South Texas. I thank you very much for them! I loved the “mustard” color!
Please add me tooooo!
I even managed to get your button on my blog all by myself without help from the kiddo’s! I must be becoming a computer geek too!
Gotcha covered! Thanks for the support!
