For the Moms (and anyone who ever had one)

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on September 27, 2007

Scroll down if you are seeking Thursday Thirteen. I’m sorry, my friend Connie sent me the link to this in an e-mail, and I thought it was hilarious so I had to post it on top of my Thursday Thirteen post about “guilt.” The performer says she figured out what a Mom would say in a 24 hour period and condensed it into 2 minutes and 55 seconds. She sings it to the William Tell Overture. Take a moment to watch it (actually, take two minutes and 55 seconds). You might like it.

While I have your attention, and I hope I do, I’m starting a new blog contest tomorrow (Friday). I’m going to show you a picture, and ask you to name a song to go with it. Anyone can enter. This will be the prize:

She holds jewelry, and you know you want her. Imagine your necklaces (or your wife’s necklaces) dangling from this. Or not. Hey, if you win and you don’t want it, you can sell it on E-bay! Come back tomorrow for the picture and see what you think.

The very first song that came to mind was Lucy in the Sky (Beatles), but I think Medusa by Anthrax would be more appropriate! Medusa, of course, because of the snake-like hair. :-) What fun!

wait nancy…that’s not the picture! It will be posted tomorrow. You are just practicing, I know.

Hair…came to mind remember these lyrics?

Gimme head with hair
Long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming,
Streaming, flaxen, waxen

Give me down to there hair
Shoulder length or longer
Here baby, there mama
Everywhere daddy daddy

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

I don’t want a headless woman with a better shape than me, thank you… though a little clay in the right places would fix that (I meant give her a head, not change her body shape, but that would work, too…) but a contest, that is fun.

But do you mean make up our own song title or associate an existing one with the picture… I’m sure you will make that clear tomorrow for people like me that over think things.

Hair, yeah, Janet is right. All that does look like her hair flying out, must be a lot of static electricity in the air at your house… all that yarn, maybe?

You wouldn’t want her anyway, because you are packing to move! You will see tomorrow, and it’s a different picture. Yeah, there is a lot of “static” at my house! ~skt

I can’t wait to see the picture so I can name a song! Great contest, but if I win may I pass it on to the 2nd place winner. I just want my name and link. That’s plenty for me, besides I have a curious toddler and she looks like a headless Barbie!

You’ve been tagged! Like I said in my post, “Oh, hush now! Who doesn’t like be called out for the good stuff?”

I saw that tag, and I will respond…Yes, you can pass the prize on. You could have it as a prize in one of YOUR contests  Re-gifting~skt
