I don't have to hide them from Leon, he is grateful I do that little bit... Maybe I'll try that one Saturday.

But Emeril's spaghetti sauces, especially the garlic one and the kicked up tomato one -- spicy! and not gummy like cheaper brands... of course, out here, most of the stores either don't carry it. I do add those frozen mixed peppers, the yellow, red, green ones... Right now with all the moving prep, it is that or throw OreIda fast food french fries in the oven, open a can of beans, toss mustard in it, and throw some deli ham at Leon... Cole slaw if he feels likes stopping at the store - and he is still nice to me, go figure.

I haven't tried Emeril's stuff, but I guess I'll have to (as long as I can add meat ). Adding just a few fresh things to a frozen meal seems to spice it up. You are too busy to cook right now, yes you are. And, Leon's nice to you because is a Saint ~skt

that's too funny! i love that you shoved it to the bottom of the trash! sounds like something i would do!!

So, tell me a recipe you would use?? If you would hide your secrets at the bottom of the trash like me, I bet you have a quick fix meal. You can add it to the Slacker's Cookbook ~skt

I cook twice a year; Thanksgiving and Christmas. That's it. Zane does all the cooking around here. He loves to cook and bake and I hate it. I'll clean up dear is my favorite phrase. Have a great day Shelly. :)

Lucky stiff! However, I get out of Thanksgiving and Christmas! I order meals for those or go to the siblings houses (they are allergic to my cats...was that smart of me or what?)~skt

Another good one - Swiss Chicken:

Put some boneless, skinless pieces in a baking dish; pour over them a can of cr. of mushroom (or cream of chicken, or brocolli; I sometimes add ro-tel tomatoes & chilis for a 'kick')then cover the entire pan with a layer of swiss cheese slices (put some bread crumbs over the top, if you're really tryin' to be "fancy") and shove it in the oven at 425 for about 40 min. quick, easy, and yummy!!

Aww Man! Mo, that sounds good! I like the idea of Ro-tel for kick! I'll have to try that one soon. Thank you. I told Jamie that we need to make a Slacker's Cookbook. This would be a good addition ~skt

For me it is more extreme effort

1 Roasting bag
1 Roast
6 red potatoes (unpeeled)
1 quartered onion
1/2 bag of prepeeled carrots
1 can mushroom soup
1 pkg onion soup

Place in baking dish, throw in oven return in 90 to 120 minutes depending on size of roast.

It's hard work I tell you, I have to peel and cut one onion, and open one can and one package ... can't you just see the sweat on my brow?

 I feel for you but I can't reach you. That's an excellent suggestion. We may have to put together a Slacker's Cookbook~skt

I like the frozen meals too. We make HomeStyle Bakes from Betty Crocker (I think). They take 30 minutes, but could fool anyone!

I'm writing this one down, Stephanie! What's the best "flavor?" I don't need to fool "anyone," just my husband  Thanks for the tip!~skt

I'm very fortunate. I don't cook at all, the hubby does all of the cooking and he is sooooo good at it.

He didn't cook when we first got married, but he decided to learn after he realized that I could cook nothing but Spaghettios.

With everyone's schedules in the house, it was proving quite difficult to find time to eat, let alone cook, so now he'll spend one weekend day just cooking a bunch of different meals and sides. Then we seal-a-meal them into individual portions and freeze them. We must have 15 different types of dinners in the freezer and this gives everyone a choice for what they want to eat, too, without going the fast food route. Yes, it pretty much kills one weekend day for him, but it's so much easier during the week.....

Jessica

Now everyone wants to know where you found that man. And, do they accept trade-in's at that place? I'll keep MINE, but if someone wanted to teach him to cook, I wouldn't argue!

Spaghettios. You crack me up.~skt
