A few days ago, I started a blog contest called [tag]Name That Tune[/tag]. I showed y’all this picture of a [tag]mannequin[/tag] in a local store, and asked you what she was singing. The response has been delightful! I’ve enjoyed learning some new [tag]songs[/tag] and seeing how your twisted little minds work.
I appreciate every one of you for entering, and wish I could give a prize to each of you, but my lottery numbers were not a match. Google ads don’t pay worth diddly. So, I have to really pick one winner! You didn’t make it easy for me!
Eric was disappointed, because he thought she was singing “I Enjoy Being A Girl.” Nobody picked that one!
These were the entries I received:
- Janet:I Feel Pretty from Westside Story
- Susan Helene Gottfried: MmmmBop
- KansasA :Somewhere Over The Rainbow
- Rebecca T : New York, New York
- Stephanie: Lady Marmalade
- Jamie: Diamond’s are a Girl’s Best Friend or Who Will Buy
- Courtney: Candyman or Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy From Company B
- Barbara: I’m gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair or Sometimes A Lady.
- Marcia : Tomorrow
- Lesha: Money Can’t Buy Me Love
- YellowRose: “Bitch”
- Jessica The Rock Chick: I’m Still Standing by Elton John
- Moana: The National Anthem (“from sea to shining seaaaa”)
- Lydia seconded that, but she doesn’t get it as an entry, sorry
- Robin: Magenta’s verse of Touch a Touch a Touch a Touch Me from Rocky Horror.
- Jen: Everything’s Coming Up Roses
- Kendra said If It Makes You Happy (Sheryl Crow) or Dancing Queen by Abba
- Thorne: “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Cindy Lauper or “Loving You” by Minnie Ripperton
- Nashvegas: Kate Pierson’s part on “Shiny Happy People.”
- Liz: “I feel pretty- Oh so pretty- from My Fair Lady unfortunately, Janet beat her to it.-
- RittyRats: “Anything You Can Do,” a song from the musical Annie Get Your Gun
- Mimi Lenox: “Send In the Clowns”
Now, I have to tell you that I was real partial to “Anything You Can Do” and “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair.” This gal looks pretty sassy, so I can see her singing either of these. But, this is the e-mail that I sent to me as I posted the contest:
The e-mail doesn’t lie. So, Janet, I’m sending you this FABULOUS PRIZE from Rhinestones Boutique right here in Denton, TX. If I see it on E-Bay, I’ll know who the seller is!

My thanks to
Life is Rantastic, Thorne’s World, Knitting Passion, and Tales of a Former Michigander for promoting the contest. I asked my spousal unit to pick a number, and it matched Kendra at Tales of A Former Michigander. You are all on my blogroll and Technorati favorites. Kendra, let me know your address, and I’ll send this to you. No, not the wine! Just the feather fluff to decorate the bottle (or tease a cat).

Jessica
Oh my goodness, what shall I do with this beauty??
Thanks for making me a winner for the day!
Great choices though my cat (better known around here as the stone cold murderess) is sulking and I may have to go find some feathers to keep her bird hunting proclivities under control.
Oh man, I totally missed the contest. Ugh, I’m so far behind on my blog reading, I’m done trying to play catch up
Hopefully I’ll be by more regularly now though
Oh, my… that’s rich! That’s so funny that you emailed yourself with the winner. You must be psycho– uh, psychic!
I feel pretty was my favorite too. (Although I really liked the “sea to shining seaaaaaa” entry)
Congrats to the winners and thanks for the fun, Shelly!
Congratulations to the winners! And, I am so disappointed.

As for my entry, as I see I got the “shocked smiley” you can see what kind of mood I was in when I posted it, huh?
