That would be enough to drive me around the bend – but I guess you do get used to sounds after time. We work near an airport and when I first started I would get so startled by the low planes and no I almost never hear them – ok so there was that one time I almost hid under my desk…yes I thought it was crashing…lol!

I am going to miss our trains in Florida, and the race cars, I love the whistles, though, like you did, don’t hear them as much anymore. And I love the drone of the race cars.

Great story, Shelly! When my daughter was about 3 we rented a tiny forestry dept. house that was cute as a bug and we enjoyed the trains and the automatic sprinkler sounds from the alfalfa fields. When we moved, it took me longer to adjust to sleeping without the noise! My MM is up.

I feel your pain. When Lovely Wife and I moved to Bossier City, Louisiana, our second apartment, it was in the flight path of Barksdale Air Force Base. So THAT’s why it was so affordable.

Did I mention that Barksdale is a B-52 base and that they have those suckers in the air 24 hours a day? Silly me.

What a great story! I’m on a direct line to a landing strip at O’Hare so we have the planes coming overhead. I don’t even notice them unless I’m outside.

I can’t even imagine $70 a month for a house payment! That’s priceless!
