Seems that my blog is playing games with me.
But, I’m not having fun!
Yesterday, Lola contacted me and asked if there was a problem with my blog. She said my blog had disappeared. She’s in Spain, so I thought there was just some “issue” going on with my blog trying to swim across the ocean. I mean, I could still see it and I could still post to it. But, she was right.
This morning, as I sat down at my computer at 4:00 a.m., I couldn’t access my blog! I have three computers sitting at the desk. Granted, the two pcs are just barely working, but my blog was nowhere to be found. Not on any of them! I couldn’t access it through Word Press Administration. Clicking on the link in a comment e-mail didn’t send me there. What was up? I didn’t know!
So, I contacted my server to discover that they had “migrated”(wouldn’t it have been nice if they had told me??). I had to go change the Domain Name Servers, so that my blog would come back on line. It did for the rest of the world, but not for me. I tried unplugging my router and plugging it back in. I turned off the computers and re-booted them. I cleared the caches on every one. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
I was told that it might be 72 hours before I’d be able to access it. I decided to drive to my local coffee house and try to access it from a different ISP. Voila! But, I’m not going to sit here and blog. The smell of coffee is making me drunk. It’s back home for me, and if my computer will now recognize the site I can work some more.
Otherwise, I’m assuming that the Universe has other plans for me. Like resting my back or working on Share A Square or something. Y’all be good, and if you can’t be good—-have fun.

It is probably the blogwriters gremlins telling you they need a couple of days off and you should just go for a long walk or something.
Hope all returns to normal soon.
“Normal?” What’s that?
You and me were in the same boat!
Mine is finally working, but it took awhile. I kept thinking it was my computer!!
Yes, I was thinking that it was MY computer, too! Then some people e-mailed me to ask where my blog went! Thank goodness they did.
It sounds like your DNS cache is just going to take some time to get updated. The reason that it worked for other people and at the coffee store is because a different DNS cache is being used. You, unfortunately, have no control over how often the DNS cache is updated.
I explain this a little bit more in Everyone Should Use OpenDNS. That is also something that you could do in order to check that your blog is okay.
In the end, it’s good to get it up, though!
Sometimes, Derek, I wish I had you here to just tutor me. Except that, we’d probably just go for coffee and shoot the breeze, and not get any work done. Thanks for the link!
When my server goes down I feel so powerless. I have really become connected to so many people through this medium. I surrender
Glad to see you got yours worked out.
Taking a break is not such a bad thing, lol…says me who had no internet all last weekend. I went nuts but did get some knitting done…ciao
Ah, Rositta…if I would only actually do something instead of fret. I wasted time just ranting…oh well. It’s done now
Glad you’re back up and running now. Well, at least for me
Nice of them to let you know in advance they were moving the server…
After I complained to tech support about it, there was a mass e-mailing…like we hadn’t already figured it out
They told me they were changing servers, but it didn’t mess mine up - those day… but off and on for weeks now mine keeps telling me my server is down… and then it pops back up… Annoying to say the least. Maybe the gremlins want us all to take a break a while… I know the work gremlins think some of us should be working instead of blogging.
Definitely I should be working instead of blogging. At least if I work, I get to eat bacon!
There were a few other blogs that I visit taht were affected by this yesterday too I think. I had no idea what happened to them, but this explains it. Hope it’s all working for you now!
Supposedly this doesn’t happen too often with my server. I’m going to hope that’s the case. Being without it made me feel bereft!
Whew - I was getting pretty worried, but now I am finally able to see your blog again! What was really weird was that my blog reader was showing me your new posts, but I could not access your blog to comment - Just so you know, I’ve been reading, but unable to comment… So, I’ve been an involuntary lurker, I guess
You can lurk or talk, Misty. I just like having you around!
