There are two kinds of people in this world: 1) those who like oatmeal and 2) those who don't.

I'm a #2; especially with fresh blue berries! Yum!

But I have to admit, when done incorrectly it's the grossest stuff imaginable! I remember one morning, when I was a counselor at a children's camp, the cooks accidentally burned the oatmeal. Not having anything else prepared for that meal, they went ahead and, um, served it anyway.

Now, there is nothing more memorable than being served burned oatmeal! As proof, 5 years later the experienced kids were still warning the younger ones off!

Robert Hruzek's last blog post..What I Learned From Chaos

Hmm, you seem to be somewhat confused. That breakfast seems to be completely healthy 'apart' from the oatmeal.
Oatmeals bad for you. A box of it fell of the shelf once and broke my Granddad's glasses. That kinda thing never happens with Bacon.

So right you ARE! And, that box has sharp edges, so I got a nasty paper cut when I opened it. I guess this is a lesson for us. Don't eat oatmeal, or you will be wounded and won't be able to see the cut!

That is so great! I love the Irish oatmeal box and the bacon is just the bomb. As mu grandpa used to say: "That'll make you hunt a bear to slap around."

Well, I don't know what the heck your grandpa's expression means, but I love it and will probably use it . I think I bought that oatmeal just because it was "Irish." It is NOT delicious. But, then I can't think of many "Irish" dishes that I order in a restaurant either...

I actually love oatmeal but it has to have some milk poured in and a bit of sugar on top. Prefer the instant kind because I'm always late and need to rush :)

This was instant, and that may be its problem. Or, its problem may just be that it is oatmeal. Strange that I'm Scots-Irish and don't like "porridge."

I'm not an oatmeal fan either. I have to drown the taste with butter and brown sugar. So, I so understand. It is good for you though. Have a great day. :)

Yep, my husband looks at my concoctions and suggests, "you should have a little oatmeal with your butter."

Would you like my recipe for crockpot oatmeal? You prep it the night before and let it cook all night. You get up in the morning and it's hot and creamy and delicious.
And there's a town nearby that has an Oatmeal Festival every January. It's a hoot.

I would probably enjoy an Oatmeal Festival, just because any reason is a good one to party. As for your crockpot oatmeal recipe. Ummm. Jen, I love ya, honey, but I think I'll pass on that one.

Dang these dietician people anyway - take away all the good stuff in life I think is what they live for.
I love -so do all three of my kids -oatmeal with butter and brown sugar -sometimes toss in raisins and/or dates and nuts too. But bacon? Now that is a new on one me but I should have realized it would be a normal thing for you -the lady that I think would or could eat bacon on everything, virtually three meals a day. Well -that could also be me too in that I love bacon too but just never thought of trying it on oatmeal. Might have to give that a whirl.

Stick with me, kid, and I'll show you all kinds of foods that bacon can garnish (or disguise). Have you ever had a bacon and peanut butter sandwich?
