Y’all, my poor Sweet Spousal Unit has discovered that there is no possibility of having a peaceful meal when you are married to a blogger. Everything is an opportunity for a blog post.
We went to a local restaurant on the square here in Denton, Texas. All in the world we planned was having a quiet time together. Just the two of us with no teenager, it was going to be peaceful quality time.
We got a seat by the window, ordered our food, and sat drinking our Guinness and chatting. It was delightful. Our food arrived, and as we were about to dig in, I noticed a commotion in the street.
Quicker than a singed cat, I grabbed the camera and dashed across the restaurant. I looked like O.J. Simpson racing through the airport in those Hertz rent a car commercials many years ago (that was before he had a lot of time to kill). I leaped over tables and shoved little old ladies out of the way so I could snap pictures of a Peace Parade!
Yessirree! A PEACE PARADE! I felt like it was a flashback to the 1960s.
People were swarming about everywhere. It was as exciting as a High School pep rally. I love a parade!
They were chanting and shouting and flashing the peace symbol. This sign had a peace symbol until the fella saw I was taking a picture. Then, he made sure to cross the fingers (can you see the itty bitty George Bush face on the right side of this sign?).
They were carrying huge banners, even in the wind.
Nope, there is no such thing as a “peaceful meal” when you sit down to dine with a blogger, is there?.

Awesome. Great fun to see, and even better to help them get their message out!

It was exciting to be there, even if it WAS and itty bitty parade.
Everything is a blog opportunity, isn’t it? I’m always saying “just a sec, hon, I have to go grab that shot for my blog.”

Exactly! And, while I’m getting those pictures, my meal gets cold!
Maybe one day all these rallying will work.

It didn’t work quickly for Viet Nam….
Awesome! The protest *and* your blogging dedication!

The protest was great fun. But, my meal was cold
. What a thing to do to fish and chips!
My sweet spousal unit is learning the same thing
Great pictures, and I say for a great cause.
I am hitting downtown Oshkosh tomorrow to start taking pictures of what is being done in prep for the Johnny Depp Dillinger film coming to town very soon.

Cool peace parade. .. And your town is lovely. I enjoyed looking at the scenery more than anything else. I know very little about Texas, other than history book stuff, as I’ve never been there. So, you have trees that loose leaves… beautiful buildings that remind me of the town I grew up in. And still, a popular movie theater… No Walmart invasion yet?

It´s a pity what happens in the war, I remember Viet Nam. Most of the people in Europe is against the war in Irak. We are not against the U.S.A people, but the goverment policy. I hope you unterstand what I mean. Hugs!
