As I headed across Texas last Friday to tell stories at a festival in Galveston, I didn’t think it was going to be a wonderful adventure! It was raining and the weather was icky (that’s a bona fide meteorological term).
It turned out to be a pretty enjoyable trip! I took a lot of pictures, and I’ve been trying all morning to get my Galveston pictures on line. Unfortunately, I have not found an easy way to work with pictures on this MacBook Pro. I’m sure there is an easy way, but after using a PC for so many years, I’m just not catching on to the way to do it.
I put them on Adobe Photoshop Express. Now, I haven’t done much editing on them, yet (because I don’t know what I’m doing). But, I put them in albums so you can view them if you would like. Click on the link to take you there.
The first album is of The 1894 Grand Kid’s Festival in Galveston, Texas. I know it doesn’t look like “kids” in the picture, but I assure you that these guys were little kids in disguise.
Here is what my evening was like in Galveston. It’s got everything, including bacon, shopping, a carriage ride, the beach, and me being abducted by a pirate. Well, ok, I wasn’t really abducted, but I tried to be. See, my husband didn’t want to go with me on this trip (being from California, he was not impressed by Texas Gulf beaches). So, I have to show what a good time I had. NEXT time, he won’t let me leave home without him!
This Adobe Photoshop Express isn’t very easy to use. Tell me if it’s easy to access, so I know whether to bother with it again. I might use it for the Afghan Gallery for Share A Square, if y’all think it is worth it.
Later this week, y’all I’m going on a ghost hunt in Boerne, Texas. A girlfriend is joining me to stay in a haunted room!I’ll blog it as it happens. Right now, I have to go work in the real world.
Dang this trying to make a living!

Looks like a lot of fun! I have no advice about the picture situation….I don’t do too many pictures, although I’m working on that!
Have fun in the “real world”!
LOL
Meg’s last blog post..Welcome!!
I don’t think this was the answer! I’d be better off with Flickr, I think.
Looks like fun(-: A beach vacation is just what I need(-: And..wow a ghost hunt coming up? Wow you are going to have a great time. Can’t wait to hear about that one(-: Where my daughter works there is a ghost/ghosts in her building….maybe you can visit there too…(-:

Where does she work??? If I didn’t have to work when I go there, it would be so much more fun!
Sounds like you had a good trip! For some reason I couldn’t see the photos…not sure why.
Stop by if you get a chance I posted a few photos of bluebonnets I photographed in Stephenville.
YellowRose’s last blog post..Bluebonnets are in Bloom!
It was a good trip, indeed! Didn’t start out that way. There were bluebonnets EVERYWHERE, but I didn’t pull off the highway very often. Those big trucks are scary!
Oh, I am so very happy that you were able to attend the Grand Kids Festival! The Grand 1894 Opera House is such an amazing theater and the productions and performances are first rate. From what I understand, there were more than 3000 (purchased tickets) in attendance.
I saw you earlier blog entry in which you stated you stayed at The Tremont, a beautiful hotel indeed. Upon your return, you may want to consider one of the beautiful bed & breakfasts located in the historic district. Also, The Galvez and The Harbor House get high scores from our out of town visitors.
Very glad you found Mod Coffee Shop! They are nice and make yummy coffee. The gentleman you captured in your drumming picture (with the dreads) is an AMAZING local businessman who also owns coffee shop called Y’a Bon Village Coffeehouse. Stop bye and say hello to Curt when you are in town again (info on his shop: http://www.galveston.com/yabonvillage).
Thank you for choosing Galveston Island as a destination point for your trip. We welcome your return!
Very best to you-

GalvestonKidz.com’s last blog post..Congratulations to The Grand Kids Festival Banner Contest!
Actually, Erin, I’ve been coming to Galveston for 12 years to tell stories at that Kid’s Festival. I’ve stayed at The Galvez and at Harbor House…but I stay where The Grand puts me. You do have a delightful town, even if my California bred husband isn’t fond of it. Thanks for stopping by.
I haven’t seen Adobe Photoshop Express, but I’m really good with Adobe Photoshop so I’m pretty sure I can help you if you have any questions…
Looks like a fun trip!
