It was a good run, but fund raising is hard work! I tried to raise money for Camp Sanguinity Cancer Camp, and we came up with a decent bit of cash. It wasn’t what I had hoped, but any money they get is more than they had. I’m just glad there were some kind souls willing to donate!
I had this logo on every post for a couple of months, hoping people would donate through PayPal. I also had a logo on the sidebar. I’ve taken it down, and plan to close the account in the next few days to write a check to Camp Sanguinity.
Many friends jumped in to help spread the word, too, and I don’t know what I would have done without them. It’s just that we are fighting some pretty tough economic times. It’s hard to donate (even to a good cause), when you have to spend $75 just to gas up your dadgum car!
My friend, Jessica the Rock Chick, had a “shuffle off” to give away an IPod Shuffle to anyone who would donate and spread the word (congratulations to Smiley Girl!). Smiley Girl also won a $10 gift certificate to Two Belles and a Bead (thank you, Crystal, for your kind contribution!). I didn’t realize that Smiley Girl’s name got in the pot twice. But, she graciously had Jessica re-raffle the gift certificate (she kept the IPod—imagine that!). The winner of the gift certificate is Sarah M. in Phoenix, AZ.
Thank you, Jessica for your wonderful generosity. Thanks to ALL of you who donated and who helped tell people about it.

Thanks to your big hearts, we raised $711.11. PayPal takes $11.69, giving us a grand total of $699.42 to give to Camp Sanguinity. Update: $1199.42 + 20 Euros (which is more than $20…but I don’t know how much until I go to the bank!).
Whoot!
Y’all are amazing, did you know that?
