Guy Kawasaki Distracts Me

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on August 8, 2008

Guy Kawasaki made me do it. Yes, he did, and I don’t even know the guy fellow. I mean, I know who he is, don’t you? He was an “Apple Guy Fellow” once, and he’s the mover and shaker behind Alltop. I follow him in Twitter.

I stole his picture… do you think he will mind? I just wanted it to decorate my blog.

If you Twitter, you should follow Guy Kawasaki (you can follow me, too, but I’m not nearly as interesting). Guy constantly puts links to stuff he finds as he surfs the Internet. I think he surfs it in his sleep, because there’s a new link every few minutes. Be prepared to be distracted!

Anyway, he put a link to an article about RSS icons, and I followed it. I got to thinking about my piddly excuse for a feed icon, and decided to make a new one. Next thing you know, I was working on my poor, limping PC so I could use Adobe Photoshop. Because of Guy, I spent hours piddling! Dang it!

I took these two pictures:

I followed the instructions in this Photoshop Tutorial.

And, I created my own version of an RSS feed icon:

Now, please click the doggone picture on the sidebar and add me to your feed. Don’t make me sit up and beg.

I’ve had you on my reader ever since I first started up using my reader -which was several months ago now! And, I also have you on Twitter too. Do you ever feel like you are being stalked?

You know that whole thing about learning something new everyday? Now that you learned how to make the snazzy picture…has it made you want to learn more about photoshop? Someday I would love to learn how to use it, but I know that I would just lose time and become obsessed!

I hope your cats didn’t see you using the dog…that’s almost blasphemy.

That’s an awesome feed picture. Although I’m not so keen on the idea of reading your feed now. It might be covered in Dog Drool…
