Morning Ritual of Affirmation

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on October 18, 2008

I affirm that I blatantly stole this from All Rileyed Up, who has been known to write snarky posts that make me snort coffee out my nose. She can’t slap me for stealing it (because her arms are too short) and she got it from Three and Holding.

This is one in a series of videos about Affirmation Girl by Lisa Nova. I liked them so well that I even found how to use them for my ads in the sidebar.

If the cake in this video had been bacon, I might have thought she was mocking me.

Do you give yourself affirmations? Raise your hand if you talk to yourself in the mirror.

Don’t talk to the mirror, but carry on truly great conversations in my head … do all imaginative people do that? Anyway, courtesy of learning at an early age that the only constant in life is change, I’m pretty easy on me who happens to be a pretty nice person.

Yes, you should be easy on yourself. As for those conversations in your head…imaginative people have them, as do those folks out sleeping on the street corner! I dunno if that counts as affirmation

This is no lie: when I’m crabby or in a bad mood, I stand in front of a mirror & say “SMILE” until I do. Lots of times I end up laughing at myself. Try it. It works!!!

I know it works. At my house, if you stand in front of the mirror & smile, or talk to yourself, soon 5 cats join the conversation. They will all help you with your affirmations

Years ago when I was a young 20-something with all his hair I would tape them to the bathroom mirror. I swear my mantras and affirmations. That stuff works!

Had to read it twice to figure out that you didn’t tape your hair to the mirror  Yep. I think the affirmations work, too. This gal, however, is much funnier than I ever am!

I hope it isn’t too late to put in my request for Greenville, SC, but if it is, I quite understand. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

Thanks for the mention. I just watched it again. “Who would do this to you?”

 It cracked me up, and I appreciate you posting it first. Had to give you a mention for that!
