Isn’t it a huge relief to get home from a trip?
I just got home from a pretty grueling road trip to Houston. Mind you, I’m not complaining, because it meant work and a paycheck (Hallelujah!). However that trip has left me with a “full plate” of things to do today, and I’m going to be concentrating on it so that I can relax again.
Before I get cracking though, I want to invite y’all to join me tomorrow for an “Only The Good Friday.” I’ve made the decision to use my Fridays to practice seeing only good in the world around me (even if I’m snarky for the rest of the week). I figure that optimism is contagious, and that if we work together we can spread it through the internet like a virus. I hope you will help me “infect” some folks with that optimism. Visit my first post for some suggestions about posting, and drop by here tomorrow to tell me if you are participating.
I also want to thank some folks:
- Mary Ward, at Do You Digg It wrote an unexpected review of This Eclectic Life. I was tickled pink when I read it, and I want to thank Mary for making me sound much more interesting than I thought I was! I’m looking forward to “digging” through her archives for reviews on other blogs!
- My sweet friend Cori, at SAHMbles made up a meme (how creative is that?)! It’s a pretty cool one, too, and I’m trying to think on it so I can participate. She decided to consider what it might be like if she met some of her “cyber girlfriends” in real life. She listed Chelle, Nutmeg, Mother Hen, Misty, and yours truly. Again, I come off sounding much better than I think I am…but I like it. I like Cori, too, and I think you would. She is, obviously, very creative, she’s funny, and she shoots straight from the heart. I think you’d enjoy this stay at home mom if you paid her a visit.
- I have some packages in the huge stack of mail that came when I wasn’t looking. I haven’t opened them yet. There is one from Thorne, that I think is for Share A Square, and one from Robin that is for The Good Medicine Project. Thank you, ladies. I’m looking forward to opening them later today!
- I also want to thank my Sweet Spousal Unit, who not only cleaned the house so that I could have a restful haven when I came home, but also reworked the fireplace (casting a new liner for it) so that I can have a fire when it gets a little cooler. No, y’all can’t have him. He’s mine!
Now, I have to get after it. I have to: unload the car, put all that junk away, wash a mountain of laundry, comfort five cats who think I am leaving again, shred a truckload of junk mail, get some groceries, comfort five cats, go get my hair red, VOTE, comfort five cats, write some thank you cards and a contract, comfort five cats….yes, the list goes on, but I’ll spare you.
What’s on your “to do” list today? You wanna come help me out here? I won’t argue with that. I’ll let you do any of it, except vote and get red hair.
