Can you see the bits of trash scattered all around that cat toy? Pretty yucky looking, isn’t it? Naaaah! Don’t think like that! That cardboard thingamabob is a cat scratching toy. It sits smack dab in the middle of my living room to entice my one cat with claws to sharpen them on that instead of on my furniture.
Unfortunately, the cardboard falls apart and bits of it scatter all over the room. I have to vacuum that area every day…and we all know that vacuuming sucks! But, I don’t care. It’s a small price to pay for a little less shredding of my furniture. The mess is a good thing— it means the toy is working.
Occasionally I’m miffed to see the mess, but it doesn’t bother me today. Friday is the day I exercise my “optimism muscles.” Friday is the only day of the week that I work hard at seeing Only The Good in everything. I post about “the good” on that day, and invite you to join me. You can post, or just make a comment about something good going on with you. I want to hear. If you post, be sure to comment, so other folks can find it.
Now, this particular Friday has some really wonderful stuff going on for me. Tonight I get to go to a concert to see Celtic Thunder! Don’t be jealous. I tried to give you tickets.
You didn’t win Celtic Thunder tickets, but you can win a free pair of Lee jeans … would that help? Run over to Leanne’s blog to her Lee Jeans Giveaway. She gets to give away 10 pair! The drawing is December 1st. To enter, leave a comment (that’s all you have to do for an entry!). You can earn more entries by blogging about it or by posting about it on Twitter. That’s good, isn’t it?
My thanks go out to Mo, Thorne, Jeni, Karina, and Marcia for playing along with my idea. And, to Jamie, who hasn’t really posted an Only The Good, but she linked me to a recipe for some kick butt bacon brownies!
Y’all go have a good day!
