I Donate Cans For Comments

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on December 7, 2008

Empty my piggy bank to fill the food bank!

 I Donate Cans For Comments

There is a wonderful, simple idea going around on some photography blogs in the Vancouver area:
Make a comment on a participating blog — a can of food gets donated to the needy.

I liked this idea very much. I found it by following a Twitter link left by Heather (I love following Twitter links!). It led me to a photography blog by Michael Wachniak. He got an idea from Chris + Lynn Photography and I’ve decided to jump on the bandwagon.

Everybody likes getting comments on their blogs (and even though I’m not answering much because I’m having trouble typing–I love them, too). During this holiday season, it’s a wonderful time to give something back. From now until December 12th, if you leave a comment on any post on this blog or on my Posterous blog, I’ll donate a canned good per comment to my local food bank.

So, comment here, tell your friends, and then visit the blogs I’ve listed above, as well as these other blogs to leave a comment (I bet you’ll enjoy the pictures, too!).

Do you have a blog and want to participate? Leave me your name and I’ll link you here!

What a wonderful thing to do. No matter what else is going on in your life, you’re always thinking of others. You have the biggest heart of any blogger I know. You inspire me to be better, do more.

Thank you for being you.

I’m copying someone else, darlin’. But, I liked the idea. I doubt that I have the biggest heart…there are some very generous bloggers out there. Thanks for coming around to see me.

“Comment” – there you go – you owe the food bank a can of food. And I’ll match ya – I’ll donate one to my food bank too. Thanks for all the links. Great idea.

Whoot! Now, will you match all the cans I donate??

Okay, this seriously rocks! All the more so because I am so broke this year that we’re eating our own canned food. (Which sux; but there it is. LOL) So… I won’t be able to join up and donate for comments, but I can still be a part of some giving by taking the time to visit and comment. So donate a couple for me, babes! Thanks, Shelly! I’m makin’ the rounds!!

What an awesome way to get your name out during the holidays! Me (and others I am sure) love to support those who support the community, so thanks for supporting!

And, we appreciate that support! Thanks for commenting and happy holidays. I’ll have an update on the number of cans this weekend.

I’m matching every can you donate (for our local food banks) plus for the few comments I get! I was late getting into this, so that is how I can insure I donate extra this year. I just posted on it. I know it’s late, but I just found out our son and daughter-in-law will match your comments (and my few) too!

Whoot! Can’t wait for the final tally. This totally rocks.
