Shelly - I just had to back up to this post & tell you how much I enjoyed your podcast. For one thing it was so good to put your voice to your face! Now, "sometime" we just need to have coffee - my house OR yours to put the 2 in real time! The story was lovely. I can just see you doing that. I, too, am a big animal softy. I have to leave the room if anything bad is being broadcast. And if my friends start talking about something bad that happened to an animal, I cover my ears & start singing LOUDLY!

I know how you feel about having to leave the room! I appreciate your kind words. And, YES we can have coffee. I'll save my pennies to buy gasoline and meet you half-way!

Shelly,
Just sitting here knitting up a second bag for the project and enjoying the story. Just wondering, what do you do if the earthworm is your son who won't listen to his mother?

Do you know that we can talk to each other on apple chat? No phone call needed. The sound on this recording is great and I enjoyed listening.

I found another group to make squares for, The Pine Ridge Reservation in S. Dakota. There is a woman on Ravelry and yahoo groups who collects squares. Thank you for opening my eyes to what I can do at home to help others. Happy New Year.

Jennymcbs last blog post..And Then Laziness settled in

Earthworms can only help themselves, JennyMcB. Yes, we theoretically could talk in apple chat, but it's another thing I don't know how to do. I like the new charity you have found! Thanks for telling me about it. Wish I was on ravelry!

How utterly delightful to hear you Shelly - you sound so Texas! I was cackling picturing you out there getting caught talking to a worm by an old man in his underwear (I know something about how that feels - remember my photo of Mordechai?), but it was the ending that brought tears to my eyes, apt as it is for these very difficult days here in Israel.

If only the world didn't have so very many earthworms. Funny that it is so apt, since we don't even have the animal kind of earthworm here, but this region certainly has more than its fair share of the human ones.

Here's to a better 2009. Somehow.

Robins last blog post..Gaza War - Putting things into perspective

I wish there weren't so many "earthworms" crawling around, too . 2009 WILL be better. It must.

And, of course I sound so "Texas," but if you are here with me, I'll start talking like you.

First of all... what a delight to HEAR you!!

Second... what a delight to hear your story. Thought provoking, with so much insight. Did you see my blinders? I started trying to make a small contribution with your medicine bag project. I have a box read to go in the mail tomorrow, but I will make more. I am also making squares for the Handmade Afghans Project (for our wounded servicemen). Contact and my participation to both of these projects is due to YOU! Thank you Madam Worm Whisperer.

Thank you for the kind words, Carol. I'm so glad you got involved with HAP. It's a good project. And, I appreciate your participation in the Good Medicine Project . I don't know what I'd do without you. But, don't do everything I say! I'll have you eating bacon, if you don't watch out.

My god Shelly that was beautiful and thought provoking. I just recently starting listening to books online and I must say you definitely have the talent to record books or stories.
I hope you turn around and don't get baked by the hot sun, you have a wonderful talent!
Now for me, things are looking up and I'm sure going to take your little bit of philosophy in 2009, in fact I may just have to listen to this daily to keep me motivated to keep on truckin in the direction I need to go.
Peace and love to you in the new year! Keep these podcasts rolling!

Thank you, darlin'. Actually, since storytelling is what I do for a living, the recording part is easy. Wish I had a good knowledge of the actual recording process. I'm accustomed to recording in a studio and having a technician do all the hard work .
This post is one that surprised me...and as I re-read it, I actually like it. I'm going to listen to it regularly, too. I need reminding of what I already know!

Hope your New Year is delightful...and that you make yourself a lot of luck!
