I love those packets too. When I have a head cold, I usually grab the Zicam... and my DREADED neti pot!

My kids were coughing last night, and they wouldn't drink the vinegar, so instead, I put a compress of vinegar on their chest, and warmed it up with a rice bag on top. It was amazing! Silence!

I do hope you stay healthy this year Shelly!

I don't want to hear about that neti pot again! I know it works for you, but the thought of it grosses me plumb out! I also know that the vinegar works really well for you, and that it does for other folks, too. I just can't stomach it, though. Hope your kids are done with the cough. [and, I'm trying for healthy this year. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired!]

I love "Emergen-C. The vitamin c is easy to digest, The body does not make its own vitamin c so it is impossible to get to much. You know when you have gone over your the limit...you will get the runs.
I use to work an hour away from home ( I live in the boonies). I would often leave work late at night. I would down an Emergen-C about 20 minutes before I had to leave...it would wake me up for the drive and allow me to sleep when I got home.
I carry it in my purse to cure hunger until I can get home or to a place I want to eat. Hungry for something and don't know what it is try Emergen-C it will fill that hunger.
I take plenty of Emergen-C to prevent the cold in the first place.
I like the taste
Well like I said I love Emergen-C.

Bwahaha! Now Sheila, THAT sounded like a pay per post. You made me giggle, but I'm so glad you are backing me up on it. I was beginning to think it was just my imagination that it was working. But, I do NOT like the taste --- though it beats vinegar any day of the week. Which flavor do you get? Maybe there is one better than raspberry.

No home remedies to offer (I like Advil cold & sinus capsules; they work for me), just glad you found something that works, and you're feelin' good!! ;-)

Have a great week...

You aren't kidding that it's good to find something that works! One year, I got sick so often that I had "walking pneumonia" for months! Advil is good, though. I just like getting it before it gets started! I hope I haven't just jinxed everything by mentioning it

We used Zicam at the onset of a cold in WA and it did seem to help. Will suggest Emergen-C to our son.

I'm with you on washing those things. My stomach turned just reading it,

Marcias last blog post..Mobile homeless shelter

The Sweet Spousal Unit prefers Zicam...and he uses those (oh whaddayacallem) Cold-Eeze tablets. I figure that everybody's system is so different that you have to just experiment until you find what works.
Since it makes your stomach turn, I promise I will never mention washing green snot out of handkerchiefs again...today.

My mom SWEARS by Emergen-C. She sent me boxes of it in Taiwan to keep the kids healthy. When we came to the States last summer, I left the boxes with grateful neighbors. It truly is wonderful stuff!

I'm hoping that it is what is working for me...and I'm hoping that blabbing about it doesn't make me come down with pneumonia tomorrow! Bwahaha! That's about the way it works for me. Man, if your momma sent it all the way to Taiwan, she MUST believe in it.
