I have a new handbag, and it’s MINE, all mine!
But, YOU can get one like it at Handbag Heaven, if you would like. Trust me, you would like!
It wasn’t so long ago that I told y’all about a website called Handbag Planet (that has since become Handbag Heaven — and with good reason, because their handbags are heavenly!). On their grand opening day, they gave away a handbag each hour, and I darned sure wanted this one!
Even though I had all my fingers and toes crossed, I didn’t win it. I was as disappointed as a coyote with a rubber chicken.
Recently, I got the opportunity to have one of these handbags to review it. It came just in time for my birthday, and I’m tickled pink.
Mine is called the “Jamison Shoulder Bag,” and is made of glossy patent leatherette PVC. You could have fooled me — I thought it had the look and feel of leather! In fact, I’m worried that I need to wear a sign that says, “It’s not leather!” Those animal-rights activists might throw paint on me, if I don’t.
I had a choice of black or red, and simply had to have the red one … it just seems to make a “statement.” I love the flat bottom on it, so that the purse stands up on it’s own instead of falling over and sprawling out on the floor. But, mine is never going to stand on a bathroom floor, let me tell you!
The inside has a silky fabric lining. On one side is a zippered pouch and on the other side are two open top pockets. It has a silver buckle on the closure, and there is a magnetic “snap,” which makes it very easy to close without a lot of fumbling around. I have a tendency to let my handbag hang open, and that makes it a target for thieves. I won’t have that problem with this bag, because it will almost close on its own.
There is only one tiny problem that I’ve noticed with this handbag: I need a pouch that will hold my cell phone. If I put it in the zippered pouch, I can’t answer it in time. If I put it in the open top pockets, it slides out when I jostle my purse. Maybe a strip of Velcro would make that pouch more snug (and would make it easy to open in a hurry).
Except for the “cellphone dilemma,” I would have given this purse 5 boots (that’s the rating for things that seriously kick “you-know-what”). Since just about everyone carries a cellphone, I’m giving it 4 1/2 boots.
Are you wondering if I would spend my own money to buy one of these purses from Handbag Heaven? You betcha! Their prices are extremely reasonable. And, I’m betting that I would buy exactly the same purse despite not having a secure place for that phone. That’s a small concession for a purse that has the classy look of this one!
