I’ve been sifting through these lovely charms that my friend Lynda (in Fort Worth) sent for The Good Medicine Project. Many of these polished stones are amethyst, which are considered to have “calming and peaceful” properties. I know the kids battling cancer will appreciate those. She also sent three wonderful medicine bags, as did Wendy in Michigan.
Camp Sanguinity is only a few months away now…and I think it’s time for me to get to work finishing up the bags. I’ve had a lot of offers of help, but my mailbox doesn’t yield much yet.
These gifts to the children will mean MUCH more, if MANY people are involved. I’m needing 140 bags, and I have a long way to go. There is still time, if you would like to help offer a bit of love to a child with cancer (or a sibling of a child with cancer). Follow the link above to find out more.
I’m going to go sort and sift through what I have to make another bag or two this week. And, I’ll take some more pictures to put them on the Flickr page.
I’ll post a little more often about the project to badger you a bit. Look for another update next week.

I don’t want you to think I have forgotten about you. I definitely haven’t! I’ve had more of the funkies
and the crochet/knit groups through my church are having the DARNEDEST time getting up and running.
But you are at the top of the list, trust me. I’m also debating what to use for the bag(s?) I’m going to make! I’ve got few selections now, but they are all so nice!!!
Allisons last blog post..Why doesn’t it seem to ever end?
I trust, Allison
. I just worry. It’s my nature.
I love that idea, I will send some charms after I dig through the jewelry boxes tomorrow. The bags may be a bit longer in the making…

Go, Girl! If you can send me some charms, I’ll have more variety for the bags I’ve got. The bags themselves I know take a little longer. And, heck, if bags don’t arrive I can make the rest myself. I’d rather the kids get bags from y’all, though.
Hi Shelley – I mailed you a package from my 5 lady quilt group today – 5 little quilted bags & 5 bags of charms. I’m still working on the “boy” ones from the suede skirt I found. Hang in there – it will all come together. Most of us are procrastinators at heart you know!
I am a bad witch, I am, I am, I am! Talk about procrastination! I got the charms rounded up, but after my first fail at bags I haven’t revisited them. I shall crochet if I must! In the meantime, I’ve tagged you over at The Eclectic Witch Please stop by and see if you care to play. If you’re not into it, that’s cool too! xoxoxo!
Slam those charms in an envelope & send them on, so I can mix and match. When you get time to make the bags, go for it (but I know you are pretty darned busy). As for that tag? It’s another me-me-me-meme! Don’t y’all think I’ve told you more than you wanted to know already?

I posted on my group Loves Many Cloths about your project…Hopefully that will bring some help..
Exactly how many bags do you still need, or a good estimate?

That’s on my agenda to figure out this weekend, but at this point, I’d estimate I still need half of them. I appreciate you posting about it elsewhere!
Shelly, I will try my hand at some bags. I am part of the “Loves Group” Wendy mentioned. 4×4?? Shouldn’t be too bad.
Hugs
Chris
Chris, you are a doll…and I appreciate you! I start getting nervous when I get this close to the end of a project. I’m so glad Wendy put out a call!
I will get back to you with how many I made. I am sitting in the hospital with my hubby all day in ICU anyway and always have my crochet/knit rolling tote (spell: loads of yarn) with me.
Hospital? ICU???? Gosh, girl. Is this too much trouble for you? Sounds like you have some of your own. My good thoughts are floating your way.
I have a box ready to mail…just waiting for your signal. There are 10 bags and lots of charms that I labeled and bagged from Jamie’s son.

Shelly, I did one today. I will pop it in the mail tomorrow and you will please let me know if that bag is OK. If it is OK, I will get going.
YOU are fast! I’ll look forward to seeing it, and let you know when I get it. I’m sure it will be perfect. Thank you, Chris.
Hello Shelly,
Glad to see you are doing another awesome project for the Camp. I helped with the squares on you aghans for the Camp last yr. Thanks for starting something so wonderful for the kids and their families…please keep us appraised to any other projects that we can help you with.
My Love’s group is all a buzz about these bags for you and the Camp…Wendy was such a dear to speak up and get us running with this…there are about a dozen gals now working their fingers to the bone..and there may be more that are just too busy to say something on our list…
Be sure to watch the mailbox..I am sure it will be filling up soon!
Take care..and please keep us informed

Love’s Many Cloths….
Dana, you are a dear. and your group member’s are wonderful. I know that several of them helped with Share A Square… and their help will be appreciated with this project, too. I’m excited! And, I’ll do my best to keep y’all up to snuff.
Ok. I started my first one, decided I wanted to do a different kind, actually went to a store looking for a kit, didn’t have it, put it all aside to pout.
Just realized that the one I started is actually kid friendly, I was looking at it through the eyes of an adult (that’s novel, me? Adult?) So, I’m going to start again. I have it out staring at me, but it became part of the decor and I didn’t see it.
I’m sending 15 word charms you can put in if you are short a few as soon as they are tagged, but things are looking up for the project!
You may not need them.
Now where is that gold thimble I was given as a child? Trying to get a needle through denim can be disastrous for an “older woman”.
