Every time I open a package or get another e-mail, the hairs on my arms stand on end. It is so exciting to hear the stories people tell me, and to open a package filled with love for us to give to a child with cancer.
My friend Carol, in California, is busily making tags to attach to some of the charms and bags that have come without them. It’s a chore that takes a lot of time, and I appreciate that she is willing to take it off my hands.

Over the weekend, I emptied my mailbox to find it full of beautiful objects.

A bag from Chris H. in Salt Lake City Utah.

Charms from Kim B., in Grayslake, Illinois. Look at the turtle!

A family in Spirit Lake, Idaho went through their stash of charms to send a selection. John (16) and Samantha (13) helped their mom, Sarah, find delightful trinkets. Do you dig John’s “cowboy boot?” I may be wrong, but I think it’s glass from the beach!

My friend Ann Marie T. in Rhinelander, Wisconsin got a group of her friends together to make bags and gather charms. Tootie G., June L., Connie B., and Betty L. all worked to put their talents to the task.
I’ve put together a list of the folks who have sent charms and/or bags for this project (please tell me if you’ve sent something and your name isn’t on the list!). If you want a link for your website on this list, or have no objection to me putting your full name, tell me in a comment & I’ll adjust it. It’s the least I can do!
I’m feeling a lot more optimistic! I’m feeling euphoric. Ann kept telling me to calm down, and she was right. It’s all going to come together.
Thank you, EVERYONE!

I’m glad you are feeling better about the project. What’s the count? (just curious!) I was going to make more, but have been dealing with family issues and just haven’t yet. Please let me know if you need more bags and I’ll be sure to send a couple more.
You can link my blog – though I have not been keeping up with it lately. I go through spurts and life seems to be taking a whack at me and my family these days… leaving me a bit drained.
Still working with the count, Kathleen. I’m trying to sort by “ages” and “gender.” There are some bags that a teenage boy would like, but some that are too “frou frou.” I’m also trying to get a count from the camp of which kids are which ages…but they may not have that for a few weeks. The way I figure it is that if I get “too many” bags…I can find a second camp. Work on it if you want, but don’t make yourself crazy! You won’t feel good about giving if it becomes a chore
I want YOU to feel as good about giving as the kids will feel about getting!
Yes, it is beach glass! I’ll have a go at making some labels today, and send some more stuff in a day or two.

It’s totally awesome. I’m going to put it in a bag for a teenage boy…I think he will think it’s pretty cool, too.
