I surely do appreciate all the hard work and love that I’m seeing in the mailbox. Look at these beautiful medicine bags and charms that folks have sent for Camp Sanguinity!

I got the mail over the weekend and had quite a few packages. Things were piling up, so I promised myself I would get everything finished that I could for the Good Medicine Project before I let myself blog.
I didn’t get to blog yesterday!
It’s taken eight hours, and I’m not quite caught up with it (and I haven’t gotten today’s mail!). I’ve been laminating tags to add to the charms, packaging the medicine bags I have (with 3 charms to a bag), and sorting them into “categories.”
We are at a halfway point! Here’s what I have on March 30th:
- Bags suitable for Little Girls: 15
- Bags suitable for Little Boys: 12
- Bags suitable for Big Girls (or Little Girls if necessary): 18
- Bags suitable for Big Boys (or just about any of the kids, actually): 25
A total of 70 bags… or halfway there.
Thank you, everyone for the beautiful work.
If you already have sent bags, don’t think you have to make tons more of them. Ask around to see if you have a friend or two who might make one. I really want participation from a lot of different people. If I don’t get that participation, and you want to make more … then go for it.
Be aware that any “extra” bags I get WILL be given to the kids. Those bags will go to children at Cook’s Medical Center who don’t get to go to camp. If I get a boatload of extra bags, then I can supply a smaller camp in Dallas. We’ll see what happens in the next few weeks.
I’ve got a plan that will allow the kids to keep their laminated tags together (so many of the tags for Share A Square probably got lost when the kids ripped into their afghans). I’m doing some experimenting and pricing, and I’ll tell you about it next week.
If you aren’t listed in the blogroll below, then I haven’t received a bag from you yet (which doesn’t mean it’s not at my mailbox).
