As Simple As Black and White

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on June 4, 2009

I dream of castles in the air.

Castles in the air.

Castles in the air.

But, try to keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.

Put on your high topped sneakers

Put on your high topped sneakers

Most days, I see the world in glorious hues … so dazzling that I’m blinded by them. But now and then I have to look at life through a different lens.

A different lens

A different lens

Sometimes life is as simple as black and white. I’m taking a day of quiet reflection to examine my world. I hope to see you another day.

If you would like to occupy yourself with other photos in black and white, visit the fine photographers who contribute at Monochrome Weekly. Not only will it keep you busy for awhile, it might inspire you to look at your own world through a “different lens.”

Those boots are great, a perfect choice fo B&W.
The plate camera is very special from a my view – I am a camera nut.
A great start on the Mono trail – you are very welcome.

Is the castle eatable? It looks sweet at creamy – I am ready to gobble the whole thing – really hope it is not just plastic. The boots are cool – I had legs for those long time ago. Now I can only fit in stretchable :) Thank you for these visions.

I’m afraid that is a “topper.” Those aren’t my boots…trust me I don’t have legs like that anymore either! Thanks for dropping by to see these.

Wow, when you join a meme you do it in a big way – great take on mono. Very creative choice of shots Shelly.

I am honored that you would say that, Robin. You know I go overboard with everything I do (I’ll be sorry a couple of weeks from now when I’m looking for a picture to post, won’t I?).

Very well done. You certainly deserve an “atta girl” for this one. What is so neat about b & w photography is that it forces you to imagine.

Thank you my friend. Now, I want to try to see what sepia tones will do!

Teens can get away with them, Daryl! However I confess that I spent quite a bit of time trying to find where to buy them on-line. Somehow I think they would lose something in translation when worn by an old lady.

Love all these photos. But those sneakers really “sing” to me. I am “older”, but can see such possiblility in them! I would love to wear them when trekking the shores of our wintry beaches right now! They would be great for walking and break the chilly blasts of sea winds! Hmmmmmm…

I’d love the sneakers, too, Gemma … but I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t look as good on me.
