Child’s Play

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on June 22, 2009

If you had this clown coin bank — would you be inclined to save your money?

And you think clowns aren't scary?

And you think clowns aren't scary?

I came around the corner in an antique store in Gainesville, Texas and saw this face leering at me. I was ready to jump out of my skin. Evidently, one was supposed to put a coin in its hand, and it got popped into the clown’s mouth. I snapped the picture and ran away quickly. I hope this doesn’t give you nightmares!

Today, I’m going to be typing, and it won’t be child’s play.

Thank goodness I have a Mac.

Thank goodness I have a Mac.

Before the day is over, I just might lose my head.

Off with their heads.

Off with their heads.

If I have creeped you out, let me redeem myself by sending you to the Monochrome Weekly post, where you can find other blogger’s posting black and white pictures. Perhaps they have less gruesome posts available!

That is a great selection. If that clown was one of those horrid laughing things – nuff to make anyone cringe.

Those are great finds! I love the lighting in the first shot…very dramatic. How clever to shoot in an antique store! That last shots is the creepy one!

Shelly!!! OMG! OMG!!!! You will not believe this but when I was little, someone gave me almost an identical clown bank. It may have even been the same one. When my mom (the anti-clown woman, although, I admit, I don’t like them much either) saw me feeding it money, she freaked out and threw it away because it was so creepy!!! Now I can totally understand why! Egads!!! I had totally forgotten about that clown bank until now. I’m a little freaked out ;)

The first picture is a little creepy, I think I saw him in a Twilight Zone episode a long time ago. Nice photos.
