Ghost Story CD Giveaway For Halloween

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on October 6, 2009

I have five ghost story CDs to give away in a random drawing, just in time for Halloween.

You do NOT have to be a blogger to win!

My friends Jamie and Damien keep telling me to make a CD of my stories to sell … and I have one (from 2003), I just didn’t have money this summer to get copies made. Now, I have the money, but no time! Isn’t that the way it always goes? I decided to give those ghost story CDs away to get a little action on my blog traffic. Yes, I know it’s pathetic, but I like attention.

My photo on the cover is scary enough!

My photo on the cover is scary enough!

If you have tiny tots, this is NOT the ghost story tape you want for them. It’s a collection of stories I tell for adults and for students from Middle School up. Here is what I said in the “liner notes” for Haunted Happenings:

Don’t be afraid of the dark … spirits walk in the daytime, too! They don’t just inhabit lonely back roads and drafty old castles. Sometimes ghosts can be found in hotels, restaurants, and in the family kitchen.
This collection of stories is not for the very young. Oh, the stories aren’t gruesome. But they cause a chill to pass up your spine and your hair to stand on end. People I believe told many of the stories to me in an abbreviated form. I let my own wild imagination flesh out the bones of the stories.
As you listen to these tales, use your imagination! Believe them … or not. It’s up to you.

There are six stories on the CD: “La Mesilla,” “Long Tom March,” “Beth Gellert,” “The Nest,” “Saved By A Coffin,” and “Your Bed Is Over Water.” I like them all but the last is probably my favorite ghost story to tell.

So are you interested in having a ghost story CD from a storyteller designated as an “American Masterpiece” by the National Endowment of the Arts? It’s simple … I think.

TO ENTER THE DRAWING:

  • Leave a comment ON THIS POST. Feel free to comment on other posts, if you would like, but ONLY comments on this post give you an entry in the drawing.
  • You may leave ONE comment per day on this post. Each will count as ONE ENTRY.
  • Do you have a Twitter account? Press that green “tweet” button at the top of this post. EACH TWEET will count as TWO ENTRIES. I will count TWO TWEETS per day (I can’t keep up with more!) If you don’t press that button, but choose to post on Twitter about it, make sure your tweet has “@shellytucker” and the url for this post, or I will never know to count it!
  • If you have an account on another social network, and choose to promote the contest, you will have to contact me to tell me you did it! I’ll count it as TWO ENTRIES.
  • IF you have a blog, and want to link to this page (to share the opportunity to win with your readers … and because I’d love the link), be sure to link to THIS POST. Then come and TELL ME, because I’m not very observant. Each blog post entry will count as FIVE ENTRIES.

I will close the comments on this post on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18TH at midnight ( the DEADline, hee hee), and post the name of the winners at some point on Tuesday. The winners will have 48 hours to give me a delivery address, or a runner-up will be chosen to receive the CD. I will put them in the mail on Friday, October 23rd so you will have them in time for your Halloween festivities.

Does that make sense? If so, stop lurking and say, “Boo!” That’s all it takes for an entry to win a ghost story CD in time for Halloween.

Jeni Hill Ertmer October 7, 2009 at 9:43 am

Shelley, I think this is a great way to promote your CD but I also think you should think seriously about having a lot more, if not all, your stories available on CDs. Now with a big selection that would make, think of all the cds you could be peddling then!
Peace.

"Kate Spike" October 9, 2009 at 10:41 am

Boo Boo! Had to do 2 boo’s cuz that’s my cat’s name–of course he’s black and we looooove this time of year. We see his name EVERYWHERE! I have a sidebar on my blog where I list current fun giveaways and that’s where this one will go.

Dolly October 9, 2009 at 11:35 am

BOO, I got this from the Rainmaker on Facebook, My husband is the biggest fan of spooky movies and the worse they are the better. He has very long drive to and from work, he can listen to these in the car (where I won`t get scared) :o ) He is working on the movie Re-make of Red Dawn, so who knows who will also hear them. Good Luck to you with your CD`s, I will be hoping to give them to my husband as a gift.
I will also add this to my Facebook account for you. Thanks for the opportunity!

Dolly October 9, 2009 at 11:40 am

BOO and Duhhh to me. Just goes to show you my talent. I said I got this from RainMaker… Sorry my friend, it is the RainGardener.
Thanks again Shelly for the chance to enter even if I do not know how to blog, or write, or remember my friends name. Could it be an age thing?

Shelly Kneupper Tucker October 9, 2009 at 11:53 am

Bwahaha! I prefer not to think that. Let’s call it … being REALLY busy …OK? Being busy makes us forget our friend’s names and our own

Now honey. You just make a bunch of copies and you take them to all your appearances. A little announcement (“Available for sale as a souvenier” etc.). You put up a button on your website: “If you like my stories” etc. We just got to get you to market yourself. Put a video up on You Tube of you telling a story with a link to buy more.

I’ll buy one for goodness sake!!!
Thus endeth today’s nag

Mel October 12, 2009 at 6:11 pm

I too would love to have one of your scary stories CDs!

RainGardener October 13, 2009 at 10:11 am

Booooo and how exciting is this everyone getting a cd. I just linked you permanently to my blog – not for points but just because I like reading yours. So how nifty is that? Later, got to get around looking at everything – trying real hard to get back into the swing of things after a semi partial abscence from blogging. Byyyeeeeee
I guess I did right going up above to contact and leaving my address in the message space?

Jamie October 14, 2009 at 12:26 pm

Hmmm it’s getting crowded here in Boo land. There is probably a Monty Python routine somewhere: “People who say Boo!”

Dolly McQuisten October 15, 2009 at 9:41 am

Boo, I am having a great time looking around here, thanks for the chance to win a CD for my booloved husband.
How fun!

Dolly McQuisten October 16, 2009 at 2:33 pm

Boo to you and all that are within the realms of your spooky blog area. Husband not sure if we can do Halloween with his long hours on the movie set doing hair but I told him he needs to do the hair of my almost famous Pumpkin Lady. We try to NOT scare the little ones but we talk and scream and give our hauntingly awful Laugh on the loudspeaker attached under the long dress of the lady with the pumpkin lady, as we ask Have you ever talked to a pumplin lady before and from no response from the tots in awe to the great conversations with older kids and adults, it is a riot watching them from the hidden depths of my dark house. I need those CDs remember for my husband Jack to listen to on his long trips to the movie set and back at all hours of the night. Thanks Shelly Oh what a bootiful idea you have had
P.S. I posted this Boo idea, on my Facebook page, only 2 more days , I hope they hurry.
Dolly
