Scaring Ourselves Silly in San Antonio

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on October 27, 2009

The Menger Hotel in downtown San Antonio is our destination this Friday night. I did tell you it is haunted, didn’t I? My friend Judy and I are getting excited! We have our room booked (we are going to share a room, because we are a couple of scaredy cats) AND we are scheduled to go on a haunted tour of San Antonio on Friday night.

All this week I am telling ghost stories in San Antonio Middle Schools to get myself in the mood. Aw, heck. That’s a lie. I’m telling ghost stories to earn money to pay for all this ghost hunting business!

I have my Ghost Radar application on my iPhone, too — but I don’t believe in it anymore. A librarian at the school today downloaded it and we set our phones side by side. You would think that they would give the same readings, wouldn’t you? They didn’t. I think it’s bogus, but don’t tell Judy because I want to scare her silly.

The YouTube video below is what I’m really using to get myself in the mood. It shows a ghostly figure walking the halls of The Menger! Take a look. It sets my hair on end!

i hope i do not sound odd, but…
having read your account of the ghost radar and the reluctant mediums, and the similiar reports of activity you shared….i gotta wonder how the phone could know something about what was going on in your home at any random moment unless there was something actually speaking to you(although with todays technology, could they indeed make a spy sytem that could be downloaded by your phone and identify what was going on in so many homes at any given moment….bears thinking about)…
anyway…my actual concern about this is…if you can possibly see these energies, and they are identified by gauges of separate energy strength….can you possibly attract some unsavory entity with negative energy to yourself, long term?….i have heard that they can become attached to things and to people….and i guess, if i was an entity that had mischief on my mind, hooking up with someone that made it easily accessible would make look so darned inviting….
i am thoroughly intrigued by this, but a part of me is so really weirded out that if i had this, and i could see what was really there….
it might actually change they way i went through my day, and forget about sleeping, i would be so anxious…
ohh, and about the child in the cafeteria, that was enough to convince me….definitely.
(i do not believe in coincidence…..and maybe the librarian’s phone did not mimic yours because you have to be receptive to receive….)
i look forward to hearing from you.

Kendra, I have no clue if something is “really” speaking to me. I also don’t believe I am “inviting” any entities into my world. There may be something to it. There may not. I’m having fun with it. I think I believe in something like a “veil” between this world and the next. Perhaps those who are “receptive” can see through the veil?

thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
i agree with you, that it is most definitely better used as entertainment, or considered as such…
(but, i guess i am kinda stuck in that thinking that we used to consider the ouija board a form of party entertainment too…i guess it is all in the way you use it…like one of those japanese gidgets that give you a “pet” to take care of)…
yes, i believe their is a very thin veil (a very thin veil indeed)….and i respect your opinions and views and honesty (not to mention your sense of humor)..
have a sweet day!
