I’m surprised no one wrote this, but better late than never. To rid your hands of that garlic smell run cold water through your faucet until the faucet is really cold. Turn the faucet off, then rub your hands on the stainless steel (has to be stainless steel) faucet. The magnetism of the metal will rid the ions of garlic and not hurt your hands. Voila! (If you don’t mind your hand s smelling a little metallicy).
Personally I like the smell of garlic hands.

I know I’m really arriving late at the party here, but I just rub my hands on the stainless steel sink for a minute, give them a wash with some soap, and the smell’s all gone! Weird, but it works. And we have garlic-in-a-tube/jar in Aus, I just keep forgetting, so always buy the cloves

I appreciate YOU Judyth, and I don’t think you are too crazy I’m afraid that the salt might be too much for my hands. I had a chemical burn last year that really affected them. I kinda like the suggestion about parsley that Jamie gave. Or mint … would mint work, I wonder?

The water is WAY too cold in Northern California to surf! (That doesn’t stop some of the hardier souls, though, who wear wet-suits to indulge their passion for the sport.) I can, however, play a pretty mean version of “Wipeout” on guitar — that’s as close as I’ll likely get!
