You are a good soul, Joe. When I talked to the folks at MY foodbank, they were talking about the dire need for donations of any kind. Donations are down, and demand is up. It's pretty sad. Mark, the owner, asked me if I was headed back into town. I told him I was and he asked me to deliver the 30 bags of apples that he sends to the Food Shelf every week. I told him it would be no problem. Last Wednesday, it stormed like crazy, the orchard was closed and his donation wasn't picked up. Honestly, the roads were unsafe to drive out in the country. When I got to the Food Shelf, the Grandkids helped me unload the apples. I talked with the manager and told him I wanted to make a donation and asked him what would be best. In our town, her reiterated the need for laundry soap and paper goods. I told him about the cans. He really liked that idea. He told me to get cases of vegetables and soup, mostly, and "just anything" so he could keep the shelves full like in a real grocery store. I'm on it today.
