A Different Spin On Menus

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on January 18, 2010

Sometimes restaurants go to great lengths with their decorations to distract you from the fact that the food is inferior. That was not the case on Friday night. Our menus were handed to us encased in old album covers. The menu items were printed on labels that were stuck to old vinyl records inside. Click the picture for a larger view, because I thought I got a bit artsy-fartsy with that one.

I thought it was a “groovy” way to recycle those old LPs.

The “Freddie Mercury Lasagna” called out, “Are you gonna take me home tonight.” Take a look at this, and tell me that I could resist it. It needs no words to describe it, but it’s “packed with three cheeses, Italian sausage, and marinara sauce.”

Indeed … and now I am a “fat bottomed girl” all because of this lasagna! If you do not know the reference to the song by Queen, bless your heart, follow the link.

I like it when I find good food for not a lot of “scratch.” Feel free to add your own play on words, because we ran out of puns.

Very clever idea for menus, but it must be difficult to update. That lasagna looks very tempting and don’t forget, fat bottomed girls rock!

Indeed difficult to update, but I’m betting that the garage sales have a pretty endless supply of LPs, eh? Fat bottom girls rock? I’m gonna go write that down and quote you … tee hee.

The menu is great! And so was Queen.

I have recycled old Christmas LP’s by painting Christmas scenes on them.

Stopping by your blog makes my world go round. I always get a smile when I stop by.

You are a sweetheart, Sheila. Have you ever seen the “bowls” people make by heating up the record and forming it? I guess about all you could put into them are chips, but they are fun.

NOTE: I sent Pat the name of this restaurant in a private e-mail. It’s a bit risque. If you live in the area and really want to know, you can hit the contact button up there at the top of the page.
