Have I told you that my husband is a musician? Well, he is an engineer for a living, but he plays music in his spare time. He can play darned near any musical instrument that you can imagine except drums. The only reason that he doesn’t play drums is that we don’t have a set of them for him to pound (and may I say, “Thank God for small favors”?).
He sent me a link to a YouTube video that I thought was amusing. It’s a band playing the tune of Sweet Georgia Brown, and the percussion in the background is supplied by an idling tractor.
I wonder how many tunes to the gallon it gets?
On another note, I wanted to thank all of you who donated to Colorado Bob’s fundraising effort to provide a shelter box in Haiti. He met his goal of £500.00 before the weekend was out. Kudos to both Jamie (for telling folks about it) and Colorado Bob for the kind-hearted effort. I know Jessica the Rock Chick went there from this site, and I appreciate you, girlfriend.
In fact, you all rock! Let’s get a tractor to play along with the song, “Yes We Can.”

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “garage band” now, doesn’t it?

Yes, and my husband thinks that the tractor is EPA rated to get 35 songs to the gallon!
We not only filled one box, but are over a third of the way to number two. A big thank you to all who participated. Everyone might enjoy seeing what the Shelter Boxes are doing in Haiti as broadcast on CNN

That’s hilarious! Just sent the link to several fellow musicians. Maybe we don’t need a percussion section at Carnegie Hall, after all!

Well, if you are taking a tractor to Carnegie Hall, take a John Deere, so at least it looks classy
