Assorted Photos

by Shelly Kneupper Tucker on June 16, 2010

I’m just going to share some pictures with you today. It’s a disjointed collection from our trip last week. I always have the camera with me, and we snap pictures of odd things that catch our eyes. Most of them are ones that I will never use for a post, but I like them. Instead of letting them languish in my files, I’ll put them here and hope you enjoy them, too.

While Mr. Tucker and I were cruising around Fort Bragg (near Mendocino), I spotted a doe and her two fawns. Naturally, I made Mr. Tucker chase them down so I could get close to shoot them … sort of. Mostly I caught pictures of their white tails in the air as they ran away, but I did manage to snap them looking at me. I wanted to hug them, but they wouldn’t let me.

We stopped by the art center at Mendocino to reminisce about Eric’s father. He and his wife were very active in supporting the arts. The “welcome dragon,” made of found objects was interesting to me.

I also enjoyed the horse made of driftwood.

In San Francisco, you have to look down at the sidewalk sometimes to find the art. We found these koi painted on the pavement. Cheaper than a koi pond, don’t you think?

Since you have probably seen pictures of the trolley cars in San Francisco, we captured an image of a vintage city bus.

There are more, of course, but I’ll save them for another day. Y’all stay cool in this summer heat.

Cool photos, Shelly. I always enjoy looking at the world thru another photographers eye. Thanks for sharing.

I’m honored that you would call me a “photographer,” because I’m anything but!

Animals, real and imagined: a testament to keen observation. Most zip through life looking ahead, not seeing what’s passing them by. Love the horse.

Zip through life, is what I do, for sure. Isn’t that horse amazing? I wish you could see it close.
