12:12 am September 2007 Updates

Y’all have been waiting very patiently, and I thank you for that. I’ve been as busy as a one-armed woman saddling a horse, and a lot is getting done. On Tuesdays, I crochet with the Senior Center Needlework Group here in Denton, and on Wednesdays I drive to Roanoke to crochet with another needlework group. You would not believe how much help I am getting from those fine ladies! Not only are they putting together afghans, they are making squares, and rimming others that have been sent to me. They take them home and bring them back the next week. It’s so wonderful to walk in and be handed squares that can pop right into an afghan.

On Labor Day weekend, I was supposed to meet with Connie K., as she swung through this area on a trip. She has finished two afghans, and by crocheting all through the night, she got us to the goal of FOURTEEN AFGHANS made for the month of August! However, I’m a doofus and tried calling her at her home number instead of her cell phone. She didn’t answer. Can you say “Duh?” We are going to try to hook up in Greenville, TX (which is halfway between us) later this month. She’s a glutton for punishment and wants more afghans to put together. Connie, I love you.

I have a ton of pictures to upload, but I’m going to make you wait. I’m exhausted. Mamaw would say, “I’m a might wilted.” Papaw would say, “I burned all my wood.” Daddy would tell you, “I feel like I’ve been rode hard and put up wet.” Somehow, that phrase has lost something in translation…

I want you to check out the Share A Square FAQ page and see if I left anything out. It doesn’t allow comments, but you can comment on this post. I didn’t let you do that with the last update page. I didn’t pretty up the page with pictures, but I tried to list the information people need. If you see that I goofed up, please let me know.

Just so you know, we now have 15 afghans (I made another over the weekend) and I’m halfway through another. I’ll post a picture in my Thursday Thirteen tomorrow.

For right now, I’m gonna go saw some logs. Goodnight, Irene.
