I’m Hooked On Snapfish
This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Snapfish.
Be sure to read to the bottom to find out how YOU can win a $50 gift from Snapfish.
Father’s Day is around the corner (June 21st), and I had to scramble! I had been given a wonderful opportunity to make a super gift for my husband for Father’s Day. I could use family photos to create a unique gift from Snapfish. The catch was that I only had a few days to make it so that I could be included in the product reviews, and my family photographs were scattered on three different computers.
I went to Snapfish to peruse my choices, because they said I could make anything my heart desired. Dang! There were too many choices!
I could have made it easy on myself. I could have made something simple. I could have used this photo of Mr. Tucker when he was young and wild to make a coffee mug. Oh! Or better yet a frosted beer stein! That picture would have been more appropriate on a beer stein, don’t you think?
I could have made a set of playing cards, but I wanted to use LOTS of pictures. If I put a different picture on the back of each card, then the deck would be marked and he could beat me when we play “Go Fish.”
I could have made him an apron, but then I would have to teach him how to cook. They offer really cool golf towels, but he doesn’t play golf either. A desk organizer would have been a “joke” for my beloved husband (it would have remained empty, while everything was scattered over the desk!).
Then, I saw it! The custom cover photo book! THIS I had to have for him. AND, it is what I made.
Photo Book From Snapfish.com
I was really worried about being able to make this by the deadline, because I have never tried to make a “scrapbook.” But Snapfish makes it extremely simple to do. Once I had uploaded the photos from my computers, Snapfish gave me the option of “populating” the book for me (putting the pictures in at random), or I could design my own pages. There were many different layouts, and a myriad of background designs from which to choose.
Notice the variety of page layouts!
I decided to keep it simple, since this was my first attempt at a photo project. On some of the pages, I could put text, if I chose. I was pleased to find that if I didn’t put text in those boxes, there would be no blank text box on the finished product to show that I was lazy.
The finished product is magnificent. Yes, I couldn’t wait and gave it to him ahead of time. He cried! He was so touched by this gift with photos of his children and his family that the tears flowed.
This Photo Book from Snapfish made my husband cry.
I’m excited about these photo books, and I highly recommend them as a gift for Father’s Day … unless you don’t want to see the Dad in your life start bawling. There are three things I’ll tell you, if you think you want to make one of these photo books:
- Get all your photographs into one folder on your computer before you upload them to Snapfish. I duplicated a lot of my content by not being organized and it confused me. In fact, now I’ve started immediately uploading my favorite family photographs from my camera into my Snapfish account (it’s free and I can even share the photos on-line). Next time, I won’t be scrambling to find those photos. And, yes, there will be a next time!
- A higher resolution gives you more options. I had some photos that were fairly small, and I couldn’t include them, because they would have been grainy. Don’t worry about re-sizing them (unless your internet connection is very slow), because Snapfish will re-size them according to the layout you choose.
- Start early so you have plenty of time to make your book! Although it doesn’t take long to make, it’s a treasure for a lifetime, so you want to be as creative as possible. If you are wanting these for Father’s Day, your order should be made by June 13th.
Snapfish offers gift options in a range of prices. This custom cover photo book (at $39.94 for 30 pages) was one of the most expensive, but it was worth every penny. You could make anything from a customized Grandfather card to a square key chain to a collage mouse pad.
BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE!

I LOVE scrapbooking and making art journals! When I learned about digital scrapbooking I was kinda like, “What’s the point”? I can see my photos on my comp easy enough! But this, this Snapfish, gives digital scrapping a whole new meaning. That book is gorgeous! I hope I can still qualify making a little departure form your questions. 1) The “Dad” in my life was my late husband, Jerry, who was the best Daddy in the world to my daughter. Although he was her “step-dad”, you would never have known it, and he will always be her Daddy!
2) I would fill one of these Snapfish albums with photos of him and my Daughter and give it to her for Father’s Day. I think it would make a beautiful Father’s day memorial for her. And if my answers don’t qualify, that’s okay. It’s still an awesome product!
That book looks great Shelly – fabulous choice!
My dad is my shining example of the kind of human being I want to be – good, kind, honest, easygoing, always ready to help, doesn’t take himself or anyone else overly seriously, the kind of grandfather who lets his granddaughters put pink and purple barrettes in his hair and beard – and then leaves them in all afternoon.
We live on opposite sides of the world, a gift like this would make us feel a little bit closer.

I’m lucky to have two great dads in my life. My own father who is the shining example of a loving, giving man. And my husband, who has given me such hope to continue on this journey of parenthood. They make me feel like one lucky girl to have not one, but two great male role models.
I recently moved to India, which was hard for my dad. I’d love to give him a snapfish gift for Father’s Day that is a compilation of my photos from my travels so that he can see all of the beauty I’ve seen and stop worrying so much.
While I’d love to win a snapfish prize, I have no “dad” in my life.
Great review, Shelley.
My dad means the world to me. He’s always been there for me, he’s always kind and patient, he’s just an all around good man. I love him.
And I’d love to get him a photo book filled with pictures of his grandkids. I actually just ordered a book for myself a couple weeks ago and he was very jealous!
I don’t have a dad but love Snapfish and would love to make one for my husband.
My dad is extremely underappreciated by his kids and his grandkids, but he loves all of us unconditionally. He loves looking at pictures of all of us and would absolutely be thrilled with a photobook.
I make books like this every Christmas as gifts for my family using our favorite pictures of the year! They are a huge hit every time. I would love to win one of these books for my husband as a Father’s Day Gift. He’s not just my husband, he’s my very best friend and he’s an awesome dad. He works so hard and such long and goofy hours with the police department that sometimes, he misses some of the kids sports events, concerts, getting to see them go off to dances, etc. Of course, I take a gazillion pictures and he sees them on the computer or on his phone, but that’s so different than having the pictures and the wording in a book. I could totally see him taking something like this to work to leave on his desk for a little “bragging about the kids” ice breaker, too. I’m going to write a post, too
I love the idea of making a book like this for my dad, and don’t know why I never thought of doing it, but thanks to your review, I think that is exactly what I’ll be doing this year.
My dad and I had a tough time getting along when I was a teenager, but as we’ve both gotten older, we’ve formed a bond that is pretty hard to explain. He is the sweetest, kindest, smartest, and most laid back sould I know. He drives me crazy with his sillyness, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. He truly is the example of what a dad should be. He means the world to me.
He’s also gotten quite a bit emotional in his old age, so I’m pretty sure a photobook like this would make him cry, and who doesn’t want to make their dad cry for Father’s Day? No, wait…that doesn’t sound right…
Shelly, this is a lovely book… you did an awesome terrific, job.
I blogged this today! I have may have no Dads in my life but there are a lot of people with a lot of pictures!
My Dad is my hero! He’s always believed in me, no matter what. He deserves a gift from Snapfish just as a small token of how much he means for and does for my boys and I – even that’s not enough to show our appreciation!
My husband deserves a Father’s Day gift from Snapfish, because he is an awesome Dad. He’s really patient with our three year old and loves to teach her all sorts of things from the names and uses of tools to planting a garden.
My husband loves coffee and has fond memories of sharing a cup of coffee with his Dad, especially when they were on camping trips. He even remembers his first cup of coffee, ahem, we won’t say how many years ago. One of our funny early stories is how I was so proud of myself for scrubbing his camping tin coffee pot – not knowing he had “seasoned” it for years and thought that added to the flavor. Eww, I know but he’s a guy.
SO, for the last two Father’s Day, I’ve gotten him a coffee mug from Snapfish. They have a collage option, and I put various pictures of us, with our daughter, camping. Then I add the words, “Happy Father’s Day 200x from Daddy’s Girls”.
Those two are his fave cups and he uses one or the other every day. A proud look comes to his face when he takes it out of the cabinet.
Thank you Snapfish for letting me doing something really special for my hubby every year and every day.

The dad in my life — my dad — deserves a Snapfish photobook for Father’s Day because he lives so far away from us and we’d love to send him photos of the kids to enjoy when he’s not with us.

My Dad is the most important person in my life. He is loving, caring, and extremely giving to others. He has a huge farm in the country with a lake and we love to go fishing together. I appreciate and love my father very much!
Great product review. I like your style of blogging. Once I am done answering your questions, I intended to check out more of your postings. now on with the answers…
I was fortunate to have two wonderful dads in my life. My biological dad passed away 10 years ago but I still have my step-dad for the past 25 years. (Shout out to him – Happy Birthday Jack) He just turned 58 yesterday (June 2nd). He is very dear to my heart and so on Father’s Day I plan on taking some great pictures f my kids and having those pictures plastered on one of the many offerings from Snapfish. Grandparents always love gifts with the grandkids printed on them no matter what the occasion.
Wishing you a scent-sational day!
Snapfish is fun! Our entire family is into photography and we love to create personal gifts from our photos. Thanks!
My dad was such a grounding force for me growing up. He was so patient, and he got right in to play with me. Even now as a grandfather, he makes his grandkids so happy by being silly with them.
My husband’s the same. It’s such a joy to watch him make our son happy!
They would love a photo book or photo keychain. I can’t decide. But it would have to feature some adorable picture of my son!
